What spec is waynes car, does it have climate?
It was last summer I saw it, pretty certain it does, so must be CDX (its not an Elite). Assuming, of course, I'm thinking of the same car (gold minifacelift estate)

If I had to guess, I'd hazard the HBV is leaking once the engine has been switched off after a trip.  By the time morning comes round the coolant/water has evaporated or blended into the ground, showing no spillage.

Just my 2p. ;)

(change the HBV)

I can understand you getting stressed at the thought of the head gasket going it is an expensive job wherever you take it. But from what you have explained you don't seem to have that problem. :y
The idea behind this forum is that when people have problems there are people on here willing to give excellent information for free, even how to's etc so you will be able to have ago yourself. I know you are saying that you no nothing about cars but there a hell of a lot of us that are in the same boat as yourself who have tried, then come back on here saying what they have done, or that they can't do such a thing, got the info they needed and gone out and done it saving theirselves a small fortune, and a sense of well being.
This is what makes this Forum such a Great one mate  :y
I for 1 can confirm this, but did have to watch daz a few times to find where things are, just had my EGR off today and gave it a clean as my EML was on,put the EGR back on and the EML went out,and I got the info of what to do off people on here, think Id take advice off here 1st mate and keep well clear of VX dealerships.Only been on here 2/3 weeks with no knowledge of cars myself and now know how to top up gearbox, clean vital parts etc.Stick with these guys Wayne they know there stuff :y :y :y :y

blimey - sounds like you've got religion too.. ::)

And lo, it came to pass that there was a blight upon the face of the Earth, and its name was Vauxhall, whose demons spread alarm and despondency among men, saying "Your head gasket has gone, for there is yellow stuff in your red stuff, that's 29 pounds please, thankyou."  Then there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth of one who made music.

But a great light shone forth in the name of OOF, whose ministering angels said "Be not afraid, musicman, for there is no fault with your head gasket.  Put your trust in us and we shall solve your problems", and a great calm fell upon the musician.  The Vauxhall demons, hearing this, were much abashed, saying "Who are these angels, who know so much more of Vauxhalls than we, the anointed ones?"  And they removed their heads from their bottoms and ran off.

Here endeth today's lesson.
