Arrgghhhh!!!! dark and raining dead straight road, doing 60 to 65mph driver in front of me indicates to turn right and stops, so i stop and then hear the dreaded ssshhhsshhhss of ;locked wheels coming at me from behind, do my best to turn away from the impending smack up the rear but there isnt much room between me and the fourtrak turning right and the oncoming traffic, CRUUUUMMCH, EVERYTHING IN THE CAR SHOOTS FORWARD from where it was sitting, oh great pull off road to be greeted by a young fella who says " Ive never driven a car without abs before i just couldnt stop in time" i am very sorry mate,
get out of car expecting to see the rear caved in but because i managed to turn away a little he has only broken the clips holding the bumper on and severly damaged the rear valence under the bumper or so i thougt!!! get it home after taking all his details and have a good look, door gaps nearside rear have closed up and the car pulls t the right when driving now which it didnt before, rang insurance company and they want it to go to buckingham coachworks for repairs/stroke evaluation of damage, equivalent car hire for free so it will be a large estate according to insurers so no prob there BUT i aint letting them write it off!!!! its to damn good so im gonna go down there asap and get them to estimate it while im there And none of this we will collect the car and return it fully repaired and valeted if its economically viable bullshit!!! 'dangle berries' to that! what you reckon chaps and chappesses ? I know its an old car but i love it and its going to Spain with me in a few weeks!!!
hmm yeah well what ever was this person taught?? main thing they told me when i was learning to drive was that if you dont know how your car works then dont drive it !!!
lol
maybe this person should try an iam course, and also learn how "real" brakes work. both our first 2 cars were normal braking and i dont think i have ever had to have the brakes locked, mainly because i kept to a safe distance, but also because i learnt where the last 10-15% before skiding was, as a result car stoped smoothly and safely whatever the occasion.
(rover metro 111, and a hyundai pony)
big difference when we got the meega, for the first couple of days we both were pushing a bit hard on the brakes and slowing down a bit faster than we though,
now thats my life story out of the way.
Definately get your neck looked at, as it can develop into something more painful, also as has been mentioned get it on teh record, as this guy admited full liability it could be a good pay out if thats what you wanted to persue.
glad that your ok tho.
cheers
