just follow yer nose if yer lucky the bottom of the bell housing will have the cover so yer can get to bolts for tc mine didnt there was a hole halfway up n/s,undo all them remove oil cooler pipes remove rubber donut on prop and tie out of the way unplug as many electricals as yer can remove bell house bolts leave 2 in about 9 and 3 oclock and when yer ready to drop remove them 2 and i unplugged mi selector while the box was dropped slightly plus the breather pipe.refitting is the reverse just make sure the tc is properly seated in the replacement box,there not that heavy,i bought a haynes for 99p but tbh once yer get under the car its all common sense ive changed loads of clutches on different cars and have never touched an autobox and after doing mine i thought god how easy was that

thanks hercules .. the only bit that gets me is the tc part... i have to get one from halfords as manual will help with getting it out,,, when i get another box how do i know how much fluid to put in and is it the top up bolt at bottom near sump? as i read it holds 7.4 liters but cant see it using that much as it only 2" from bottom of sump to top up bolt,,, think ill read haynes a few times lol

When the engine is running the pump in the gearbox pumps the ATF up into the torque converter, into the external oil cooler and into the gears and actuators. That is why the engine has to be running when you check the level.

well yes but im being positive,, it is perfect inside and not a scratch or any rust on out side so i think even tho i paid 325 for it and once i get another box in her im sure it still be worth wat i paid out    just hope it all goes smoothly !!!!!

best offer on a secound hand box from my local breakers is 270 with 6 months g t and its out same model as mine with 65,000 miles !!!    good or bad?

were are you at? as know a few place's that do recon's for £90.

£125 is alot better then your last price.If thats the only one you can get cheap then get it.Also see if they do fitting as my local scrappy fit gearboxes for £65 extra

I would say £60 to £70 for a good secondhand AR25 gearbox and torque converter then I would drain it, fit a new filter and sump gaskets at another £40 or so and once fitted refill with Dexron 111.
