I've got an ABS ECU change coming when the weather warms up!
To give myself a bit better access I want to pull the relay box to one side. I've had a quick look at it and it's not immediately obvious how it is attached.
Anyone got any pics, or a description please?
The car is a 2000(W) 2.5 petrol.
got no pics but had to do this my self and this way is the easyest way i found
remove battery
completely remove fuse/ relay box
was held up fingering how to undue the 3 big round mulitplug thing
you know em when you get to them
you unduo em by unscrewing then the pull out
drain coolant and remove top radiator hose
not stictly nessersery but make it far easyer if you remove power steering reservoir as well
then for get try to undo the 6 torx screws on ecu yet
losen the two nut that hold the whole abs unit down
now you can lift the whole unit up by the brake lines
dont go mad pulling it just lift enough so a m8/ helper
ban then undo the 6screws
for that you need a extra long torx bit t20 if i remember right size
refit in reverse of above fill coolant
put some steering fluid in power steering reservoir
and dont for get to bleed power steering.
ie start car power stering will ushally make a right nose dont worry about noise
now with out moving/driving repeatedly go lock to lock on steering and it will shut up
recheck levil and top up if need be
then just check a day or so later after a drive in case
and top up if need be
other way is become a contutionist with a fexable driver on them torx screws and some tape on end of torx bit
and a hole lot of swearing and tool trowing
and bloody knuckels
trust me the above is the easyest way by far
and i could do it now in about less that a couple of hours and 6 coffeys
for the price of the radiator top hose just get a new one while you are at as min was so stuck on i had to cut and it was buldging anyway.
