I have got sitting in the car waiting to be fitted a full set of Xenon extra bright road legal bulbs, however I got the headlight cover off for the bulbs and managed to get the dipped beam bulb out however the main beam bulb and just cannot get it to budge out of the light! When I try to pull the bulb out the whole inside reflector part of the light tries to come with it.

Any suggestions please?

pop the metal retaining clips out of the holders...

Should squeeze or pull out

should be push in, move to the left and it should pop off, also its good to keep a eye how the bulb sits and is positioned, when refitting!

There isn't really room tbh.

It's debatable, but could either remove the headlights, or the battery and air box for access. If removing battery make sure you have any relevant radio codes first, and know that one touch windows and sun roof if present will need to be reset. Which is why I remove the head light instead.
 But you'll need a long 1/4 inch drive to acess the bottom bolt behind the lower head light trim which pushes out from behind. And tape the bolt on to the socket to re fit.

Depends which way you want to go, but in the interest of keeping the bulb clean and finger print free, I would choose one of the above options.

i find it easier to pull the headlight out
makes it alot easier
especially if you got big hands

Mmm? :-? Maul about removing a headlamp to replace the bulb or just stick your hand in the back of the headlight & pull the bulb out?
I know which is easier. Main beam bulbs are just a push in fit - they're snug, but a push in fit.

Oily sockets... Mmmm maybe. Blu tac is like copper slip though, IMO. Although you may have found the best use for it.
