Should add the bugger still doesnt work though....

Actuator all fitted and wired in.
Clutch Switch Added
4 pin brake switch added
Stalk replaced

Cruise ECU responds and reports no faults.

Can't get any live data out of it yet though (yet  ::) )

Any other normal points of issue?
Bugger, you asked me to check Live Data as well.  I'll do that later when I go out to car :)

No worries, Mark has confirmed there IS live data to be had....I just can't currently access it.

Are you able to conntact to it, as 1997 and 1998 cruise units are different (from a diag point of view)?

Yes, it does respond with no fault codes.

Does the ECU ident give a clue to its age?  alledgedly a 98, but some of the ecu data looks to reference 96.

I may swap the units around as a test.

Will also see if I can get live data off mine, not tried yet.

I've just fitted cruise control, and wouldn't recomend not putting the correct switch on the brake pedal. It means if you hit the brakes in an emergency, the cruise control would NOT disengage.

To be honest, it wouldn't cost that much to buy a 4 pole switch.

Yep, on an auto the auto box ECU can also disengage cruise control.

And the auto ECU also looks for the pressing of the brake pedal via the standard brake lights contact (as used on all cars anyway).

The Auto ECU, when seeing the brake pedal pressed, signals to the cruise off via its own input.

So, its only really essential for manuals!  :y

Beware though as it would appear that if you bugger with the brake switch and get it wrong then you can lock the brakes on (cant you Jimbob!) and that results in all sorts of screaching and grief  ;D ;D ;D

Yes, but not from the car for some reason  ;D

No screaching (from me or the car) The rather thing just wouldn't move!
Can confirm a certain amount of grief though! >:( >:( >:(

Click your fingers, saying "Tea, now, bitch!", and within minutes your whole face will be the same colour....
