Good work fella!

So have you now got the ability to 'fix' non paired units?

If anyone is that interested, I will do a short video showing it in action, as I know the NCDx setup will be unfamiliar to many.

Video time then? I have to say, thats bloody impressive Jamie. Having seen, or got a bit of an idea more likely, of what you had to go through to pair the cid to head unit i am amazed. I posted pics thinking you would never crack it, i am sorry i doubted you. Fair play indeed...

I reckon you might be ready to convert a cid to work with tv out on n95 now then? I have not given up on that "little mod"... ::)

The actual panel is has a PAL/NTSC RGB input. If you read the datasheet for the panel (LQ5AW126), you should gleen enough info to be able to make a decoder and converter.

Not having an N95, its not something I would ever do. Sorry.  I did toy with somehow connecting up a PC/DVD and using it, but thought it may be distracting, and thus irresponsible. Besides, a cheap portable DVD player is so cheap now, not worth the effort...

Would be quite nice to hook up a reversing camera to it. Then again I just wait until the beeps turn into a continuous beep followed by a thud!  ;D

The info is in the datasheets - you would need a mechanism to switch the CID and the other input in, but could use CID inverter for backlights.

The hardest part is the sync.....LCD's normaly require a Hsync and V sync....so you need a converter to take the RGB sync and split it into the two sub components to feed the display.

Thats the hardest part, the only other requirement is a few switches to swap the signals over (plenty of those available for such applications)

Oh go on, have a go. My cid has found a couple more bad pixels so i think its going to need a replacement/repair sooner or later the way its going. So i'd be happy to send it when fixed and its out of the dash anyway?? A few quid in it for you..?...£££ :-)

Had a couple of queries about the NCDx satnav in use, so posting up some vids. Apologies for camera shake, difficult to keep still while Mrs TB is rallying around the traffic calming measures around here

Its not, NCDx sat nav is very poor and very basic.

You cannot do a postcode search, and sometimes you cannot put in the house number in the road you are finding, it asks you for an 'intersection' only which is crap if you have never been there so you don't know what roads it intersects with!

You will be suprised how many roads there are that have different postcodes and if you dont 'guess' the right 'intersection' you can end up in totally the wrong place

That opinion above is based, by the way, on using an NCDC 2015 for the last 2 months with the latest 2008 disc and updates, I also have the telematics, which is ok,  rest of system is basically the same as above but i also have the air con distribution options as part of mine

The idiot who reprogrammed the config only did half a job.  I bet you have a black background display when listening to the stereo as well rather than the normal white/grey (which then goes black when you turn lights on)
