2.2 spark plug gap
« on: 28 January 2010, 11:55:10 »

Just about to have a go replacing the sparkers on my 2.2....need to gap the plugs first.

What is the recommended plug gap on NGK BKR6EK for the 2.2 16v, anyone?

'gap' the plugs?  :-/

I just stick GM twin electrodes in, and wack the coil pack on top  :y

These NGKs are twin electrodes...
I have always gapped plugs before putting them in...is it not necessary on the Omega?

Look into my eyes, not around the eyes.....you will call a competent mechanic in order not to cause horrific damage.....back in the room  :o

On a serious note, tighten them to 25 Nm then go over them all again a couple of times, as the washer does crush, meaning that they often need a second or third tweak to achieve the correct torque.

Found about 4 out of 6 of mine practically hand tight when I changed mine yesterday. :o

You can't accurately gap a multi electrode plug! It's impossible.  :-?
