I would have thought this story would be enough to put people off buying apple products http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-15360697

If not the "more money than sense" comes to mind.

What bearing does their share price have on the quality or usability of the products they produce?

I'm confused..

But then I could sit here and say my sons galaxy s2 broke when it hit the floor, and my ex Mrs' iPhone didn't break when she dropped her iPhone in the street. So you could then say the iPhone is stronger I find the Samsungs are nice phones although the feel of the marerials used is shocking I think.

I cant say.. because I know the screens are made up of different material..

please watch the video carefully tests are done in same conditions (same height, same angle)

and I must say the aim for sharing this video is not to proove "mine is bigger than yours"  ;D

I tried to warn people who will pay this money.. anyway its up to you Del..

And that makes what difference? My son has a Galaxy S2 without a case, dropped it outside my local newsagents and crack the screen in the top right hand corner. The point is still the same, if you drop it and it breaks it's your fault, not the companies fault in the slightest. And that particular galaxy didn't break, strength or luck?

Or the fact that the clip was paid for and produced by Samsung? ;)

Im going with that one lol the "oooow, ahhhhhh" effects are so funny. mobiles get dropped all the time, its life, yes they should make it as strong as poss but within reason or its going to bump prices ever higher. my SE arc spends most its time being dropped, kicked across floors, flying off dashboards, its just a phone, it has no scratches dents or cracks. if i break it i will get another.

I just personally prefer the iPhone that's just my preference, the screen quality I find higher for reading text, and the phone is much easier to use along with a hugely superior battery life. Other people find the Samsung better, again it's all personal preference.

Cem you disappoint me.. you always struck me as a proper cynic and realist like me!

If you think they don't spent millions (probably billions) on marketing, I was clearly wrong ;) And this is precisely what marketing is now - 'viral' 'real' videos posted on YouTube..

And let's not forget - Samsung and Apple hate each other and are bitterly fighting through the courts over precisely these two products, attempting to block the sale of them in various territories and sue for patent infringement.. ;)

Well not really, Samsung for years enjoyed close relationship with Apple. They are a key supplier to them, but for how long. Who knows  :-\

They hate each other now, though - they're trying to litigate each other to death  ;D

I'm sure there's a similar video out there somewhere paid for by Apple that shows the opposite, btw.. :)

I quote " Apple, has reported an 85% rise in its full-year results."

As for quality or usability of there products it has very little to do with it. I am very sorry for going one degree off subject. I am sure you would never do such a thing. Whilst on the subject aaronjb, what the heck have I ever done to upset you ? This is not the first time you have "commented" on my posts

show us the example then ;)

I did a quick search on YouTube - there's tons of "iPhone survives X fall" videos (including one from 13,500ft.. ;D) - I wouldn't mind betting that at least one is a viral marketing piece..

I quote " Apple, has reported an 85% rise in its full-year results."

So because they're successful, we shouldn't buy their (new) product?

I wasn't aware you had.. I also don't tend to pay much attention to who I'm replying to, unless it's a name I particularly recognise, so it's nothing personal. I'm not aware I was attacking you, either, just asking a question.. so I'm surprised you are so concerned? I'll refrain from commenting on anything you say, if you prefer.
