Probably a blocked scuttle drain, have a look at the Maintenance guides to get info and how to address it.

i had the same problem last year  the rear carpet drivers side was water logged  with about 2 inches of water in it....the drivers front was wet...the problem turned out to be drivers side door seal all around where the dash board comes down to the sill was not properly clipped on...if that helps..

Would bet its the scuttle drain and that the OP parks their car with nose uphill so the water drains into the rear pass side..... ;)

If only the rear is wet the water cant be coming from the front or the front carpet would be wet unless the front carpet is not fitted tight to the floor panel

Checked the front drivers side front footwell today and noticed a small pool of water under the mat, I thought I was only getting water in the rear but it now appears front also.
I'm sure the blocked scuttle drain is still the cause or could it be anything else?

I've got the car booked in at the garage on Thursday for a check on the Scuttle.

Cheers for the replies,

Paul

Thanks for the advice,
I will let the mechanic check the scuttle drain first and if that doesn't solve the problem then I will look into the windscreen.
Cheers

Its very, very, very easy!

Just lift up the rubber edging on the passenger side and lift the flap at the bottom of the scuttle. Look to see if its clear, stick a hose in there, see if it runs straight through!

Poke a welding rod down the drain followed by water till it flows clear  :y

To see if there is water in there is easier than having a piddle in a gale.

Lift bonnet.

Move to passenger side bonnet hinge and see where the windscreen wiper cover meets the front wing.

There is a roughly brown envelope size shape impressed into said wiper cover.

Lift it from under the rubber seal.  it hinges on the windscreen side.

Look in the hole torch might be handy) and see if there is a collection of water, leaves and assorted crap in  there.

If there is, scoop it out and follow the guide for how to ensure it remains clear.

No need to spend monies getting a mechanic to do it.  This really is as simple as emptying an ashtray so, save your dosh.... :y

I've had the scuttle drain looked at and it didn't appear to be very blocked or clogged up........ However I'm still getting soaking wet carpet on the passenger rear nearside.... All other footwells seem dry, just a big pool of water and very wet carpet on nearside rear???

Any more ideas guys, thanks for your help
