Aha :) Good to know! One of these days I'll actually make it to a meet and beg the use of a Tech2 type person in exchange for money. One of these days  :-[
One of these days I may believe you  >:(  :P  ;D

Out of sheer guilt, I was pondering organising something at my place in the new year. I can't not go to that, then. ;D
Give us plenty of notice, I'll get some ATF ::)

;D That's me.. although only with a pit - unlike some other members here I am far too ... full figured ... to slide under the car on only axle stands.

Will stick with the Ritek ( http://www.ritek.com/p2-pro1-cd.asp ) and if it kills the headunit well so be it. Will be a pain cause of the Sat Nav etc but there must be options ( repairing the unit / replace / alternative ) Will post if and when it dies.
To be honest I'd sooner sort the gearbox, do you reckon its worth chasing an upgrade given the traits I am trying to sort

Given I've yet to see a consistent Ritek based disk, no way could I ever recommend them.  I know the likes of SVP (before they were swallowed up by evil) used to rave over them, but we've found high failure rates and poor durability.

Gearbox, it will always drop a peg under *any* load at 45mph.  Newer firmwares have more refined maps, but will not eliminate that particular issue.

Thanks for that, that is the only issue with the box otherwise its good (changes etc) so sounds as if I might as well leave it alone and learn to live with it.
Just the back shocks then, sort the problem which I suspect is the compressor not releasing the air (wound'nt think its the level valve as it does not do it every time) or just replace the back shocks with "standard units". Dont tow a caravan or anything else and rarely have more than 2 people in the car.
Think the way to go is to remove the compressor and make a decision from there.

2) Auto box, changes up and down and is smooth, the only thing I dislike is sometimes when in top and the speed drops to say 45ish the box seems to drop two gears and then almost straight away moves up one gear (not sure on this one will have to look into it further)

It will drop out of torque converter lockup at 45MPH. If it changes down while locked-up it will then immediately lockup again. That's why it appears to drop a gear then change up immediately. It's just how the box works because it can't change gear with lockup active.

A firmware update won't change this, but it does make it much more refined, IMHO.

Ah - interesting.  In that case, apologies to whoever I misled the other day about dropping two gears.  :-[

You learn something every day - thanks KW   :y

Would much sooner have the manual, just for future ref is there much involved in converting to manual not that I'm going to consider taking out a perfectly good auto but if the box develops any faults in the future would it be worth considering.
