Hmmm, wonder if they put it on its own channel due to the rulings with Sports 1 and 2 ::)

Or if they'll be forced to wholesale that channel as well, in which case, it may end up cheap on Vision and others  :-X

Needless to say, I don't have or want Sky. I do not think it represents value for money. And I sure as hell don't want to watch F1, even if it was free.  I don't think BBC offer value for money either, as they think people want knobenders etc.

chrisgixer - I think Formula One control the feeds. Sky are unlikely to have any input, so it will remain as crap as ever with massively wide angle shots.

Martin Imber - post deleted, final warning.

What I said is fully legal so warning ignored >:( >:(

:'( bye bye F1, after watching it for 35years through good and bad times, there is no way!! i would pay for sky, and just how long do you think the no adverts bit will last? my guess is the first season to grab the viewing public, then it will revert to type,
hope Im proved wrong, but i agree with TB sky just isnt value for money, sure when you look at how may channels there are it looks good, when you wipe out the dross, (wont name them) and get down to what you actually can watch or want to watch its very poor considering how much you pay
just my opinion of course, but then agin i did have sky for 3 years while it was free!! very very good then!!
no offence intended Mark!! :y

BBC might make something better still if it wasn't dragged into the gutter by itv and its crap soaps, shite reality tv, and general tv for morons approach. If it's wasn't for itv eastenders wouldn't exist.

But where they do compete BBC make a superior shite tv program every time. Ie if you had to watch a soap eastenders is least painful. Strictly over dancing on ice, etc etc.  BBC is class act, no matter what arena it plays in.

Not paying Bernies fee is wise on the part if BBC. Which makes Sky a natural choice

None taken G  :y

As Sky signed a big contract, its allowed them to invest. Far as I am aware, no adverts will be for all races every season  :y

If you do want Sky I can get it half price for you, for a year, but not in Spain  :(

Not so bad for those not taking Sky. :y

Here is the 2012 calendar, showing which races will be live on BBC/SKY. BBC will show same-day highlights of all races (plus practice)

SKY    AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX (Melbourne)    16 - 18 Mar
SKY    MALAYSIA GRAND PRIX (Kuala Lumpur)    23 - 25 Mar
BBC   CHINESE GRAND PRIX (Shanghai)    13 - 15 Apr
SKY  BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX (Sakhir)    20 - 22 Apr
BBC    SPANISH GRAND PRIX (Catalunya)    11 - 13 May
BBC    MONACO GRAND PRIX (Monte Carlo)    24 - 27 May  :y
SKY    CANADIAN GRAND PRIX DU CANADA 2012 (Montréal)    08 - 10 Jun
BBC    EUROPE GRAND PRIX (Valencia)    22 - 24 Jun
BBC    BRITISH GRAND PRIX (Silverstone)    06 - 08 Jul  :y
SKY    GERMAN GRAND PRIX (Hockenheim)    20 - 22 Jul
SKY    HUNGARIAN GRAND PRIX (Budapest)    27 - 29 Jul
BBC    BELGIAN GRAND PRIX (Spa-Francorchamps)    31 Aug - 02 Sep  :y
SKY    ITALIAN GRAND PRIX (Monza)    07 - 09 Sep
BBC    SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX (Singapore)    21 - 23 Sep
SKY    JAPANESE GRAND PRIX (Suzuka)    05 - 07 Oct
BBC    KOREAN GRAND PRIX (Yeongam)    12 - 14 Oct
SKY INDIAN GRAND PRIX (New Delhi)    26 - 28 Oct
BBC    ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX (Yas Marina Circuit)    02 - 04 Nov
SKY US GRAND PRIX (Austin)    16 - 18 Nov
BBC BRAZILIAN GRAND PRIX (São Paulo)    23 - 25 Nov

My favourites races are shown withe th thumbs-up! The only ones I will really miss seeing live are the races at Monza & Hockenheim. Hungary is not a track I find exciting. As for the others, the Far Eastern ones I don't watch live anyway, and the Canadian and US ones I can watch late (after avoiding the news broadcasts!).

Brundle confirmed leaving to go to SKY (turncoat!), but DC and Jake are staying at the BBC. Wonder who the main live commentator will be?  ???

Shame Brundle is taking the big money (presumably) as he has grown into a decent commentator.
Bearing in mind how much coverage the Beeb will still ahve,I think he may regret it as SKY may not pick up that many viewers. :-\

Dont think we'd miss much if the highlights where only an hour long tbh.

Personally i think the races are too long.

Now Brundle's burgered off to Sky, wonder who'll take over the grid walk for the BBC? Someone with sharp elbows will be needed I think! ::) ;D Needs to be an ex-driver I reckon so DC might fit the bill.
