What engined Phaeton are you looking at V6, V10 or W12

suspect to compare realistically it will be V6 - the Phaeton V6 diesel is often referred to as "the sensible one" - running costs etc and depending on model/year  may even be same engine in both A6 and Phaeton

I'd go A8 or Jag XJ, always been those two for me.

I just bought myself a Jag ... not quite an XJ, but it does have a 6ltr V12

Nah although I'd love an XJS, they still command a pretty penny price wise

Would you split the engine? I might be interested in the lower half of the engine block

Why do you want half a Jag V12? You know you can't just bolt four Omega heads on top of it I might, though - no idea what old Jag engines are worth.. got to do some research there.

If I can get some temporary insurance cover for a reasonable enough price, I may tool about in it for a week or three But the Dax chassis turns up in three weeks and I'll want to get started!

Yeh but for me, there is pretty much nothing Jap that ticks the boxes, there all so bland and uninteresting to drive.

sedans probably .. although v8 lexus wont be slow for daily drive..
