General Discussion Area / OTHER FORUMS
« on: 04 May 2007, 01:59:08 »
I was on another forum earlier today asking abit of advice and wanting some parts for the Peugeot, I received a reply about a door mirror i was asking about when a reply i received was an electric mirror for £40 cheap he says. I posted a link for an identical mirror on Ebay that was at least £10 cheaper for the sam thing and said " i dont call that cheap what your offering " refering to the ad on ebay was cheaper.

I had a reply saying.. "BUY IT THEN " I politely replied i dont want an electric one.. Some people get the hump when they are trying to milk the system.. I wouldnt mind but the forum is crap. Theres more life in a bottle of flat lucozade and more people on the moon that uses the forum. And then some wise guy comes along and gets the hump because i tol him the truth.

Thats one thing on this forum, theres help when you need it. Theres banter of a friendly type. Theres even people will go out of their way to help. For a bacon buttie of course. More members, experts in just about every field you can think of.

Long live the OOF.

I for one dont contribute to this forum with advice but appreciate the advice i read and the help thats available to one and all. A big thanks to everyone for making this the best.   :y

General Discussion Area / Working from home with computer ideas
« on: 18 April 2007, 00:20:41 »
Any one tried any work from home jobs with computer. Im faced with a slight problem of having time off again because the Mrs has to go back in hospital for another operation. Looking at about four months off work so trying to come up with an idea of making some cash while im busy doing my Florence Nightingale act. :o

Ive sold most things i can think of on ebay but cant come up with new so stuck there. Although i did make a good living out of it a few years ago. :y

So any bright ideas welcome. Ive left myself open for some suggestions there i can feel it. ;D

Thinking caps on i need to make some cash not only to survive but i want to revamp the Omega while i have the time, but as we all know it involves lots of cash.

General Discussion Area / Omega is off the road
« on: 11 April 2007, 00:20:06 »
 :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
Sadly the Omega is off the road..Boo hoo

Its run out of mot and tax and due to circustances will be off the road for a while.

It has not gone for MOT so far but i suspect from a bit of clunking from the front it maybe wishbones and whatever else, also i think a spring might be gone on the back...Im filling up now talking about it..More Boo hoos.

I dont have the time to do the old girl at the moment but do intend to, she might only be an S reg 2.0 Cd but we both love the car, im not a mechanic but will tackle most things but will have to take my time both physically and financially as some of you might have read in earleir posts ive just lost my job because of the car but thats another story..

Next month my dear little piranah fish, her indoors is off into hospital again for more surgery so another 4 months off work to look after her so i need a cheap runabout to see me through, rather than running the Omega with no or little work im looking at an old Diesel 405 for sale tomorrow with good mot and tax to get me through all this. also and hopefully a couple of companies will get back to me with some part time work mainly weekend work as the daughters home then and she can help to look after the dragon, erm missus.

But on the good side i shall be still on the forum, gaining knowledge, i might need some more too when i know whats wrong with the Omega. So keep up the good work everybody with the how to do"s.

Only another 99 members i see to make the thousand mark, and everyone a credit to the site.
But there is one member that i think we are all glad to see back, Ronnie McB. A joy to read his posts and Fin if your reading this ive still got your number just had to put thing on hold for a while maybe 6 months and then i might need some guidance.

Cheers all.    :y :y :y :y

General Discussion Area / Boxing Tonight
« on: 07 April 2007, 23:37:52 »
Anyone watch the boxing tonight on ITV.

Good show by Joe, Enzo And Amhir.

I wouldnt want to be on the end of one of Enzo"s punches.

Run the VT again and count how many puches Manfredo was taking before saying it was stopped too early, You have to defend yourself 40+ punches to no rataliation..

Superb

My dearest little piranha fish has gone to bed....Out comes the cider a welcome relief..

It turns out to be bloody good weather the first time for 352 years over the easter holiday and we cant go out.............My fault......

Go to find a new job within the next 7 days or tongue pie for the nest 7 years..

Yes im 100% p--ss--d off now...all my fault...

Forever optimistic i am...maybe, pehaps..should i shouldnt i..ha a master plan i think.

Win the lottery i think...My arse i will...oops forgot about being optomistic..Note spelled optomistic different 2 times as after the cider forgot how to spell so thought id try it the both ways..one way is bound to be right....

Feeling sorry for myself and contemplating Giving up smoking, drinking, computer, and everything else that i like tomorrow and becoming a monk...................Thought about it long and hard, optimisticly or however you spell it...

Sod it i say....
Live and let live i say.

If the car fails MOT..i get to be fitter by walking everywhere..
If i dont get a job..so what i dont have to answer to some pumped up boss who thinks hes doing me a favour for peanuts..

Buy more cider...whooo

Go shopping after dark...Police cant see the tax disk..

Use mobile phone for internet instead of computer.

Smoke more but use filters..

Tomorrows another day and we dont know whats around the corner...trouble is its a bloody long corner...

Happy Easter everyone..May all your eggs be large ones... :y :y :y

General Discussion Area / Omega costs
« on: 04 April 2007, 19:38:16 »
These rather Omegas cost a fortune.

So far in the last week it lost me my job because of not MOT. my fault got mixed up with the last omega i had and the company i worked for would not allow me to bring the works vehicle home for a couple of weeks until the car is sorted. Even though the other engineer takes his home every night.
Think they were trying to tell me something.......

On the positive side. Cleaned the breathers today. Full of gunk..filthy in fact but done.
Going for MOT on Saturday i hope but without anything being done to it..Fingers crossed.

So..no job, no car and its driving me nuts stuck in the house all day and every day, If the Omega fails mot on saturday i shall be looking for a very very cheap car with mot just to get me available for work.

Its lottery night tonight,,fingers crossed again.

Thats better a good rant does help.

General Discussion Area / CPU Cooler update
« on: 16 March 2007, 23:12:29 »
As some of might have read last week i was asking about the best cpu cooler i could buy to replace my noisy stock cooler.

Guess what!! I bought one, Its an Artic cooler freezer 7 pro.

You know whats coming next.

Its just as bloody noisy.. It cools the cpu about 10 degrees cooler. Its cooled the case and my bloody legs in fact the whole kitchens freezing. Me the computer even the computer desk are all suffering from hyperthermia.

Now apart from putting earplugs in it needs to be quieter a lot quieter any thoughts.

A fan speed controller comes to mind but i have a 4 pin plug and cpu cooler is controlled by pwm signal.
Dont i sound like i know what im talking about..Well if i did i would be asking for advice so if any of you know if i can use a fan speed controller on this fan point me in the right direction please.

I dont have the choice of slowing down the fan in the bios.

I will say this new cooler is amazing and its got a bloody 6 year gaurantee but i will be a block of ice by then or should i say a deaf block of ice... Think hard all you knowledgable computer buffs and help the aged.

Thanks in advance. :-/
