  Hi I have a Philips /Bose ..Rad/CD multi player  in my 3.0 V6  It has no CCR*** numbers on front of it only name, but looks most like the pics of the CCR600/CCR 800,
As i havnt used the car much for over a year I'm just having few jobs done too it to use from next month (towing caravan) so has the radio is saying SAFE thought I would put its codes in, alas not so... did the usual on with ign off with Radio HOLD in the AS button , nothing happened at all no matter how long I pressed it, also tried it with the CD code same there nothing happened. As i do have the lefit codes for it.
So I cant activate it, now I know it works it worked fine last year, so what do I need to do ? does it need a visit to a shop ?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Need input on fitting cd changer in my 2.ltr

Right of late I have been trying to upgrade to a cd player CDR500 got hold of one but it was faulty, now as I'm complete novice on the wiring set ups ..Can anyone tell me ,advise as to wether this  cd changer will fit in my 2.0 CD saloon miggy  easily

As I have no idea where to look even for the wiring loom connections in the boot or where ever it maybe in the saloon, that is providing it will even have the correct connections to connect this type of cd changer... as in my Estate car its situated by the o/s rear wheel & doubt it will fit there in the saloon,
So where do I look to see if there is connections to fix it to, if its a no go its back to the idea of a single cd player me thinks

I have just replaced my radio /cassette player in my miggy with a used CDR500 player. Now i swapped it over typed in the code radio works perfick but then had trouble loading a CD it just didnt want to know it spit it out every time I pushed one in tried several!  In the end I managed to get it to load by doing this -
Turn off the player push the cd in the slot then turn on the player radio plays & it sucks the cd into the player, then pressed the CD button & it finds the tracks & plays, then to remove it press the cd button again & the cd comes out but the flippin cd player motor spins for ages after, after it stops i can then put another cd in
Then to put a cd back I have to repeat the procedure ?? is this right as
I had one before in a previous car & dont recall having to mess about so much .

Been looking to buy a cheapo cd player for my 2litre CD only has radio/cass in it, looked on egay at the ones that will swap straight over
Vx CDR 500 cd players, even bid on one but they got carried away bidding i feel.......Soooo is there any other makes that I could fit easily still being able to use the st/whl controls although thats not too important just something that will work ok in the space it fits in !

Hi guys read much stuff about these so a while back bought one off ebay called Opel Tech thought I would try using it on my own cars if ever I have a fault etc plus couple of family members have Vx other models even an Agila Aghh o'well well it has a prob so tried the Opel Tech thingy connected to my laptop  and got the message No echo  so then tried it on one of my Miggys & again No echo, I know its rubbish software but is there anything I need to do other than connect it & run the engine ? as there settings for it as numerous boxes with numbers in . Is there anyone got one of these things  to work its usb & connects to port com 3 which is what I have done, i contacted a couple of guys who bought them on ebay similar time as when I did as yet no replies as to if there's worked...

Never have managed to get my Sat nav working , just once it seemed like it was going to work but all it does now is eject the disc when I'm trying to use it guess its not reading disc its a Phillips Carin model mounted in rear of my estate..Does it sound like its cd box thats kaputt?

Hi all i recently bought a 98 Omega Elite fitted with a Philips CarIn Navigation System, i know there old hat by now but figured if I can get  a CD to use it would be better than nothing...
1) Anyone got one of these CD's to sell ?

2) Anyone got one at all ?

Omega General Help / Something catching fan any ideas

After switching off my Elite V6 the fan carries on running as normal but something is clicking as it spins, now did have workies done on cam belt etc other week is there anything to look for that maybe touching the fan causing the clicking sound its deffo something catching it not a bearing noise its quite a light weight clicking sound ....

Omega General Help / Drivers door wont open !

I have just been"fixing" the drivers door on my 3.0V6 1998 as the car has been off the road for ages  Daz came up & did me a cambelt change + cam cover gaskets too so I decided to fix afew other things too as its back on the road next month the central locking was’nt working on the drivers door also it needed a new hinge/strap+ plates etc to stop door flying wide open anyway done that ok !
Changed the solenoid /actuator it worked fine  started to put the inner door panel back on tried the door slammed it shut , but it would’nt open, it opens from inside using the inner door handle but not the outside door handle anyway proceeded to mess about in door looking for what it could be causing it not to open, then bingo after doing nothing too it the whole door worked fine, so put the inner door panel back on & left it at that... so then after trying it several times shutting it etc it opened fine until I did it with the remote pressed that to lock  it then to unlock it all looked well the door inner button popped up BUT it wouldnt open using the outside door handle so am back to sq one only good thing at mo is it does lock up properly & sets the alarm ... Pic shows inner drivers door lock not much to see & not much to mess with but anyway there it is..

So has anyone any ideas as to what I need to do to fix it..?

Saw these wheels on ebay item number  250491600594
Am I right in thinking they are NOT genuine original wheels due to them being listed as rim manufacturer - TitanRacing as they look like the originals dont they ? or to me they do
As looking to possibly buy  some soon for my 98 elite

Omega General Help / Missfiring v6 problem new cat fitted also

Recently decided to put my 3.0 back on the road took it out for a drive prior to MOT yesterday ...It ran ok  abit ratttly underneath mind but then just started missing & throwing in the odd back fireing too, so as mot was booked in let it go  "It Passed " bareing in mind the the engine was missing when revved up  & lacks power it picks up better with (S) button on but still not right..So after determining the cat was rattling I popped over to the local exhaust fitter & he fit me a new cat one side only this morning but alas not much better it is a little still the backfire (bang) etc
So just tried the paperclip test , now providing I'm doing it right with or without engine running it just flashes 1 2 thats all !
Just going to try again

Omega General Help / External Mirrors not working

Hi guys not been on much lately or driving for that matter still struggling with health probs, start Chemo in 2 weeks
Anyway just come to use the miggy today noticed neither mirror works on my 2.0 cd ..any ideas to start me off inright direction ,fuses etc or door panel off, not in Mr fix it mode of late so looking for an easy one

A good friend of mine is now contemplating buying an Omega, he asked me what specs interors etc come with which model so not knowing the answer ...
Can you advise his  ideal  model  would be (for him)!!

I did explain the elite had all he needs but is somewhat shy of getting the V6 powered model..

Omega General Help / Flat Battery would this method work to get in car

Talked about this with Andy B and still not risked it ..If you have tow bar electrics fitted would it work if you plugged in a male socket into the main caravan/trailer connector on the tow bar & had it connected to a fully charged battery, would allow you to in effect ( to unlock the door with your remote ) as in theory its like jumping the car battery..
Just a thought if it could'nt possibly damage anything else (car electrics) I would try it, as then it would be no more flat battery lock outs
