I know this topic is very old, but maybe someone still need some POI of LPG for navi. You can get it here: http://poiplaza.com/index.php?p=sdb&d=398&lstpg=search

Omega General Help / Re: Gearbox Fault - Update
« on: 15 December 2011, 15:06:13 »
"P1700- transmision control module (TCM), malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) request" and "P1700 - SVS (service vehicle soon) request via CAN" means exactly same, just in different words. Yes, this code comes from engine ECU. And it is really good idea to read gearbox fault codes.

Thats what Autodata gives:
P1700- transmision control module (TCM), malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) request - malfunction. Probable cause: ECM, TCM
But i don't think it is ECM or TCM fault. Usually P1700 is cause of faulty selector switch or tired gearbox.

Omega General Help / Re: ECU Needed?
« on: 08 December 2011, 21:05:36 »
The required work to convert from DBW to cables etc must have already been done as th car is driveable, albeit not running properly.
Dont know a lot about the various ECU,s etc. but I would imagine that fitting  the correct ECU for the engine might be a good place to start. Then see if there are other problems to deal with after that. :-\
2.0 ECU,s come up on ebay fairly regularily and are often cheap as chips. :y

Edit - having just read Kevins post, maybe 2.0/2.2 ECU,s are the same,or similar ?  :-\

No, ECU are total different, wiring on engine also different, throttle body on 2.0l omega has cable, on 2.2l is electric. I think everything is left from 2.2l on his car except engine block. So first he must read fault codes  :y

You will have to change all wiring harness on engine, some sensors, throttle body, and fit cable for throttle. It is quite complicated, because you will need more parts then only ECU. Have you read what trouble codes you car gives? Long time ago i fitted 1.8l to 2.0l vectra and there was no problems with it. I suggest read fault codes first.

First thing you need to do, read fault codes of engine and auto gearbox. Find someone with tech2 or another diagnostic equipment and scan your car.

Yep actually you are right  ::) Just checked again and found that red/white is live only when ignition is on, it is controlled by relay, didn't noticed that yesterday, sorry. So it should work with brown and red/white connected. Anyway I suggest you to check voltage on glowplugs, they should get 12V instantly after you switch ignition on. The most simple way to do that is bulb test, i mentioned it before.

That red led should illuminate after you switch ignition On and stay on for few seconds (I think  ::) ). If i understood correctly, that hotfix is a simple NE555 timer with resistor, when you switch ignition on it cheats ECU by sending wrong engine temperature signal. After few seconds it just disconnects from you temperature sensor and Led should go off. Thats only my guess, i may be wrong. Anyway check your wiring, because your link has wrong instructions. Black wire is "Ignition ON" on your  Vauxhall  :y

Just found that it can be black/grey near ECU, because it has connector before ECU and it changes from black to black/grey. It is connected to 45 pin on ECU plug.

Omega General Help / Re: tyres
« on: 07 December 2011, 23:45:12 »
Yep, last winter was good. My friend has stuck in snow 5 miles away from where I live when snow hit my village. He ring me and asked for help, i told him i will be in 10min. Actually i was there after 2 hours  ;D It was nightmare to drive on snow and ice with my Firestone Firehawk TZ200 tyres. When i came back home i couldn't get into my yard, had to put old carpet under my wheels. Next day bought used winter tires and was amazed how good they are. I got Dunlop SP 3D fitted already for this winter, because i don't want same experience this year.
If you live in big city or big village it's not a problem with rain tyres (if they are good), usually streets are treated with soil and driving conditions are not so bad. But in smaller villages it is complicated, because people don't drive much if there are heavy snow outside, so roads looks like in Norway  ;D I will try to find picture of my street last winter.

Ah! That's useful! To be absolutely honest, this wire is so thin it is hard to tell whether it is a grey one with a blue line or vice versa :-(

The hotfix product is here: http://www.tawpark4x4.com/instructions/omega_hotfix.htm

Also i noticed that wiring colors in this link is wrong. Thats the correct vauxhall colors of wiring:
Brown - battery negative
Black - ignition ON 12V
Red/white (on glow plug relay) - battery positive 12V (permanent)!!!

If you connected Hotfix "ignition ON" wire to Red/white then it won't work, you should reconnect it to black wire on ECU!
