Also, re dates, hopefully we can sort a Sunday when Mark and Serek and his premises are available. Could be tricky. :-\

so we need to speak to mr dtm and serek to arrange a date to suit, and numbers attending, o yes and the weather.
and i work aternate sundays, am off today,
if the job can be done without having to remove downpipes then it would be quicker, eg step cutter bit( or plasma). :)

Getting the Lambda's out can be a big issue, if you can get them out there is a chance that half the threads of the lambda will stay in the boss.

I bought two new Bosch ones for my 3.2 and left the originals in situ and i'll probably do the same with the 2.6 (bosses already in place courtesy of Daz).

Guess who's engine light is now permenamtly on. ::)

I don't suppose there's any way of tweaking the ecu threshold setting...? No? Ok thought not. :(

Another question. Is it possible to smash the pre cat material out? Obviously this would mean removal of the cat section from that car, but is the honeycomb material brital enough to brake up with a long drift or chisel down downpipe and a large hammer...?

Far easier to put 3.0 cats on complete......

Sometimes getting the old ones off can be very awkward...
Esp when somone has put the wrong nuts on in the past :(  Hence trying to do it without removal.
Guess 3.0 Cats are not in the good supply they used to be :(

Mark's 'other' Garage could be the location he has in mind?

Both would mean removal. So yeah. Just wondered how brittle cat material is. Will it shatter or fold up if hit with a jack handle and a hammer, for instance...?

On my old 3.2 cats....shaking upside down was sufficient!
That one did get the 3.0's put on though :y

A hammer tap had revealed they had broken up...hence getting the 3.0's to replace em.  Dont think there would have been much problem 'unblocking' if needs be, ceramic stuff from memory in the precats.

Hmmm. Tempted to remove them anyway then. Would be wise to get the relevant bolts as well then play it by ear on the day.

Get some drills as well to drill the manifold to down pipe and cat to centre section bolts out.... you may be lucky or you may not when you try to unbolt them!  :)

EDIT: ...and get some taps.

Well. As there's no word from Mark, I guess this isn't happening. :(

He seemed up for it. I thought..? :-\
