Young Landrover Norris may be one for the future.

Still just a fresh-faced child but give him 3 or 4 years. :y

Bordering on the miraculous that he survived it tbh.

Crashes such as this were common in the fifties, sixties, and seventies. Back then they didn't survive because the cars had all the structural strength of a KFC box. :)

Given the angle to the track of that Armco, shouldn't there been a tyre wall in front of it.

Even back in the fifties the best cars could reach 170 MPH. Back then safety equipment took the form of a short-sleeve shirt and an old WW2 leather flying helmet. :)

No nancy boys back then.

No Hamilton at this weekends race. He has tested positive for Covid.  :(

Big question is who will drive in his place this weekend and probably the last race too? Hope it isn’t Vandoorne. Hulkenberg? Schumacher jnr? One of next years Haas drivers?Russell maybe......

I think George Russell will be favourite if Williams are prepared to let him do it. He is in the Mercedes young driver programme and although he is in the slowest car on the grid, has been an impressive driver.
He was obviously better than Norris when they were both on their way up the ladder, but Norris ended up in a much quicker car so far.
Russell is expected to replace Hamilton at Mercedes when Hamilton retires, so it would make sense.
Apart from that, Vandoorne is the official reserve driver, so seems the logical choice, but Hulkenburg has impressed in his one off drives this season, and might be in the frame.
It will be interesting to see how they perform, whoever it turns out to be.

Russell would be my favourite too but Williams need to hang on to any possibility of scoring a point in the last two races for the cash benefits that gives.  What about Hulkenberg taking Russells seat for two races........

Would be fun for them to offer the seat to anyone from any team just to see what they are like in a Mercedes.

Everyone says it is the car, well, time to put up or shut up?

Make minimal difference to Mercedes, championship already won.

Look on the bright side. We will not have to watch Hamilton 'taking the knee'

I can't see Williams letting Russell out to play, although when he tested last years Merc in Spain he topped the time sheets so the boy can drive

I would say that just about any half-decent driver could win in the Mercedes.

Virtually any driver on the grid could win with a bit of familiarisation.

Bottas and any number of others.

He has won with the Mercedes and taken pole position with Mercedes. If he can presumably others can, with the  exception of Kimi (too old and lazy) and Albitz all time favourite driver, Vettel ( who can't be arsed) :)
