You'd need an unusually long umbrella to to jab Putin
even passing the salt and pepper would be a chore with that table  :P
You'd need a sniper to take him out at that table.

I had a little day dream the other day that someone developed a nano drone about the size of a fly and they flew it through an open window in the Kremlin into the room where Putin holds court and flew it through his eye and into his head where it exploded!  :o

There was another on for Lavrov, but because he wears glasses, that one went into his ear and burrowed its way in before going boom!  :D

The Democratic political world is walking a tight rope with Dictator Putin.  One mis-calculation and we have WW3, but perhaps that is part of the direction we must go in.  What else will stop Putin, but military might?

The painful reality is we cannot sit by and do nothing really effective against the Russians whilst innocent Ukrainians die horribly. History has taught us what happens if the Democratic countries do nothing.

On the point of history, has anyone else you been watching the BBC2 documentary on The Rise of the Nazis ?

Now there have been many, many, documentaries I have watched on this subject, along with numerous books and papers read, and listening to academics talking about what progressed from the 1920's. But this series is different.  It is an analysis more about the reasons behind the fall of the Nazis and Hitler in the last years of WW2., which could give an academic suggestion on what could happen in the context of Ukraine.

In particular Episode One, Stalingrad, is extremely fascinating with an expert analysis of the nature of both Hitler and Stalin; the nature of dictators and their weaknesses that lead eventually to their downfall due to trusting no-one, especially relevant when considering Adolf Hitler.  In fact if you apply the lessons learned from the actions of Hitler in regards to Stalingrad and his puppet commander, General, finally Field Marshall Paulus you can possibly see how Putin could well fail in his gamble to take Ukraine and it's capital, with the people of that nation fighting to the death for their land, their rights, their democracy.

Just put the element of NATO military action in place, with perhaps just air power, and the dominoes could all fall down for Putin and his army, that apparently is now desperate for back up from mercenary fighters and has suffered significant losses already, including those three generals.

We can only pray and hope, and God Bless the Ukrainians and their fighters 8) 8) 8) ;)

Lizzie . But wouldn’t involving Nato effectively escalate and be seen as a declaration of war. ?

Putin is near the end of his life and presumably wouldnt care about pressing the nuclear button in defence of his Russia.

Putin is near the end of his life and presumably wouldnt care about pressing the nuclear button in defence of his Russia.

As far as Putin is concerned, a now proved lunatic, gambler, and worse of all a completely paranoid character, the West has already "declared war" with the sanctions, and more importantly the supply of military hardware (and what else?) to Ukraine.  History has taught us that dictators cannot be given a yard, as they will take a mile.

But, he must know that if he activated the nuclear option all too soon the mass of nuclear weapons throughout Europe, UK and the USA, let alone on Trident like submarines of the nuclear nations, would rain down on him.

I certainly do not really fancy living again through the low points of the Cold War, and I am against war generally.  But here we have a dictator of a nuclear power who has already attacked a free country, and killed thousands with mass destruction, whilst committing alleged war crimes.

Diplomacy has failed, so we have to face the terrible fact that we have got beyond "Jaw, Jaw, and onto "War War".  If we do not care how many Ukrainians die, and ignore the great risks of Putin moving on his war to neighbouring nations, then we do nothing more.  But with our mutual history with European countries, and great reputation for fighting to protect the weak, and giving sanctuary to those in need of it due to war, can we just stand back?? ??? ??? ??? ???

Our political and military leaders are no doubt deeply considering the military options of NATO as we speak. :(

Exactly why sanctions and confiscation of assets are being used along with accepting refugees. Not much else to be done without getting stuck in.

The yachts are gradually being rounded up, but the Russians have effectively stolen their leased civil aircraft by transferring them from the leased registries.
