AA breakdown cover renewal. (Due 31/12/24)

Normally they send out a letter with the inflated price on it.
I then ignore it.
They ring me and we negotiate.

This year they sent 2 texts, no price info but want to talk to me about renewal.
Today some one rings, I confirm my ID.
He tells me its about renewal and am I ok to chat.

I said "Go for it" :y
He repeated him self. ::)
I repeated my self. :y

He hung up. :-\

Whats pissed me of is that they rang me on an 0800 number and when I rung back the number is unavailable.

Last year I asked for the Garage part of the service cost wise to work on a payment, they then surprised me with offering a price match on renewing the relay.  Total bill last year was less than 50% of their renewal quote.

Be interesting what they offer this year - if they dong keep hanging up. :-X
You do like a scam call don't you... ???

Thats what I thought, but the AA logo came up with the phone call. :-\

Anyways, letter arrived this morning. :y

£200 last year, £306+ this year for the whole package.

Just waiting for them to calL. ::)

Pissed off to be back in A&E.  Inflammatory blood marker (CRP) is climbing rapidly again.  :-\  Thought I'd been through enough shit to last a lifetime but they've not finished kicking me yet.  >:(
That's tough luck, mate  :(

Quick update. They kept me in for observation overnight and did scans and blood tests. They said I'm a medical mystery as although my inflammatory marker is high, I have no fever and they don't know what else could be causing it. Just been told that as soon as my canula is removed and they've done the paperwork I can be discharged. 👍  Whoo Hoo.  :y

Yesterday, late for work, 3 miles on the range of the Elite  :-X so I had to stop at a BP.

Pumps are busy, so there’s a bit of a wait. Entitled eejit in front of me drives onto the pump, doesn’t draw any fuel. Saunters to the cash machine and gets out some money. Then walks inside, does his weekly shop, and then queues up for a latte and a sausage roll.

Ten minutes later, casually strolls back out, gets in his vehicle, and ficks off having not had a drop of fuel.

All while the ample customer parking area away from the forecourt is less than 20% full.

He gave such little of a crap, his vehicle was sign written with Oxfordshire County Council, and he had a uniform on with the council logo.

I’m not THAT much of a grumpy arse to actually do it, but I did contemplate sending them a moany email  ;D

Yesterday actually. Picked up my granddaughter and great grandson from Stanstead at the pick up area. I think i made the fifteen minute cut off time for the £7 but didn't really notice at the exit barrier when i paid. She had to fit the infant seat in the back seat of the Vectra as i haven't got the Isofix kit fitted in so it was a bit awkward for her.  If i have missed it it will cost me £25.  >:(. I was looking at an Ashley Neal video last night on YouTube and he was dropping his son off at Orlando airport and the first 20 mins was free and then $1 per 15mins after that. Why the hell is everything such a bloody great ripoff in this country? Rant over.  ::)

There's alot more space in the US. Florida is bigger than England. And because the drive everywhere most places are set up for driving on and out of.

.

Motorists are simply "cashcows" now a nice easy target , I've got so pissed off with it now I will never take my car to the airport again, taxi there & taxi home,if I go to town I've found a good spot to park the car no time restrictions whatsoever may have to walk a few hundred yards further but I've no intention of giving my cash away to these faceless greedy c**ts.

Skruntie, there are much cheaper options for breakdown cover than the AA, and just as good in my opinion and experience too.  :y

I've been with Rescuemycar.com for years now and the premium is £50 for just the Mondeo, or £70 for personal/any car cover.  The sting in the tail is that you have to pay a £40 premium if you need to call them out. So if you call out your breakdown service regularly, it's not for you, but if you do, you probably need a new car anyway!  :D

I've called them out a few times over the years and always had someone with me within an hour and once got recovered from South Wales to West Dorset with no quibbles.  I had to call them out recently for the first time in years and the fella was with me in about three quarters of an hour, came with a recovery truck and was happy to recover me either home or to my destination.  :y  In the event we managed to get it started and I was on my way. I think he was a little disappointed that he didn't get a nice recovery job to fill up his shift!  ;D

Recommended!  :y
