It’s fine if you can blow everything away as you’re entering but if you ain’t got the power you just should wait🤷‍♂️

East Midlands Railway - train journey from Nottingham to London, costing £160 return (with split ticket and advanced savings, it's usually well over £200) and no seats. Turns out when they got rid of the 125s they never replaced the capacity and even when the new stock arrives,  they are still going to be under capacity
I suspect the reduction of capacity, also seen on Chiltern and WCML, is to make HS2 look remotely viable (if you close your eyes and smoke shit).

Yet another stinking cold. Wanted to do work on Austin, need new plugs and coolant as well as get ripped off for the immobilizer code.

Recent overnight frosts have caused havoc with the Omegas paintowrk.
Frostt has got under the chips in the lacquer on the bonnet and front of roof, then when thawed has run under the lacquer in long streaks and lifted it.
Looks awful.  ;(

Can't really see what you can do, Albs, without spending a good few bob. Is the car worth that?  :(

Rub it down and wrap it? Or wet sand it and then give it a blow over with a couple of coats of lacquer.

The body line gives you a decent break point if you need to do the top of the car.

Alternatively nip down to Kent and pick up a clean Rubens red bonnet from that lovely Lizzie person. I'm sure she'll swap if you take out for lunch  >:D

Job for a warmer day either way... :y

It certainly isnt worth the four figure sum it would need to sort it out properly.
I may attempt something similar to what DG suggests though to hopefully improve things.
If a nice Rubens Red bonnet comes available I would certainly be interested.

Thinking about it, the drip rails are held on with screws, I think they're just two pieces on the saloon, and the trim at the base of the C pillars are removable.

A stout wire under the lip of the screen trim, open the sunroof and careful masking once prepped and you should be able to re lacquer the roof to a reasonable degree. With the sunroof, it's not such a large area and removing as much trim as possible you'll have no exposed edges to lift up.

The bonnet only needs the grill removing for a clean edge, and once you've wet sanded the old lacquer off, you could section it and re lacquer it in stages as the body lines on the bonnet are pretty well defined.

Planned and prepared, you'll be able to make it half decent. Especially as, if I remember right, you have painted some of it previously  ;)

Went shopping for SWMBO at Sainsbury's this afternoon. Bedlam, kids running around the aisles screaming their heads off, playing with the merchandise, with the parents either unwilling or probably unable to keep their little reprobates under control. As for the staff/management, not a word. Next time i'll make sure i go round when the little buggers are at school or nursery.  ;D

Will that be after your 7am drive at 22 mph in the fast lane? ;D

Highways agency, local councils and HS bloody 2.  Retards the lot of them.

None of them want to talk to each other, so the diversion last night coming out of Bicester led you straight to the closed A43, leaving no other option but to go through Hinton which had a road closure, so went on to Farthinghoe but couldn't get back to Brackley due to A422 being closed overnight, so all round the villages to get North of Brakkers and come down the A43 that way, only to find HS poxy 2 had decided they also wanted to close the A43.

12 miles, 25 mins turned into about 45 miles and 90 mins.

self-abusers, the lot of them.  I guess they have to burn their budgets before April, apart from HS2, that just needs to burn all their budgets so nobody will cancel the project.

After fixing the headlamp washer pump, discovered one of the headlight washers doesn't work - it extends, but not squirty squirty.  FFS.

It was a cheap chinky one and lasted the warranty.  The thieving bastards at JLR want £140 for one, so it'll have to be another from ching chong :(
