..... and see just how much skill is involved!  ......

You're only looking for a range of colours .....

.... with numbers on to tell you which month it expired in.  We try to get it down to the current year as there are more to choose from.  Try it.  Even you may be surprised....   :)

Ha di f**ing ha!

There should be three *** in f***ing.....   ;)

is hotel21 a police officer then? maybe he's correct if he is on the front line?

however i'm sure he wouldn't want to attend the scene of an offence such as keeping your car or driving your car on private land with the owners permission where no insurance is needed or would py out if anything happened! now hat would be a waste of resources

You'll have to point out where i went wrong.
I'd have thought that the first thing that was noticable on a moving car tax disc was its colour, not the month & year of it expiring!

You are an adult, I presume.

The quote/point I referred to was on you pointing out spelling errors on a web forum, which is not someplace to proof read an end of term university submission paper.

Big difference between that and adding meaningfull content to a thread (or not, as the case may be...)

Saying nowt more on it, lets just leave OOF as the friendly helpfull place we all hope it should be and not a place to pick nits...

You're doing that condescending thing again!

I was pulling your leg! The difference was that your mis-spelling ended up with a soap power and not a radio aerial!

Things have changed recently with sorn, plate recognition & tightening up on registered keepers which is no bad thing. I'm juggling 3 cars with sorn ins mot etc, i only drive the legal one at any time. I may be mis informed but HT21 said computers presume a taxed car is insured. One of the the age old adages is "never presume"
Beasties T&T just expired, ins. swapped to BMW, but if Beastie had 2 months of each to run but parked off road pending a "fettle" as she is should she STILL be insured? I so WHY? :-/ :o

No.  What I said was...

If DVLA have a car as not SORN and off road then their legal thinking is it must be on a road and untaxed.

The DVLA database also now has the overview of whether a vehicle is insured or not, albeit there are some vehicles that slip through as just insured recently, traders policies, etc.

That 'overview' allows you to tax your car online rather than in person at the post office....   :y

You could keep the insurance companies very busy by continually transferring cover from one vehicle to another as some insurers make no charge for transfer of policy to another vehicle eg Zurich ! would certainly cause em some paper work  :y

It was estimated there were 2 million uninsured drivers Dec 2007  those guys that use dodgy car regs/stolen or whatever crooked method they use will not give Flying f***  about the new laws till they are caught they are usually only fined & points put on Driving Lic if they have one  :y :-/

They should employ a system like in the states...

Your insurance includes your excise duty...  No messing about with 1 or the other that way...
