Many, many years ago, when people were paid weekly by cash, I used to phone the payroll breakdown through to the bank, and then collect the money the following day.

One week, as I was making up the wage packets, I thought, the tenners aren't going down very fast.

Ended up with £2K of tenners over, was very tempted, but being ther honest individual I am ::), I phoned the bank to tell them.

They asked me to bring them straight back! Sorry, but if you want them, you'll have to come and get them, not my mistake!

Anyway, the bank manager himself trurned up.

I asked him if he'd got any identification.

But you know me, he says.

You know me, I replied, but you ask me for identification every week, can't hand it over without identification.

Made him squirm for a bit, and handed it over.

Never got asked for ID, again, and, they gave me £100 for being honest.

I have to say... I'd hand it in to the police too. Perhaps I'm too honest.

I have known people get things back which they've found in the street, including money :y :y

It would obviously be a sign from the OMEGA GOD that he  too thinks petrol is a bit pricey these days and was pleased to see me washing the car in the freezing cold yesterday and paying particular attention to accumulated grime around the rubber door seals and he also told me wisely not to spend it all at once !

Wifey has a annual trip to London with her mates (or so she tells me ;D)to see a show and chill. One year they were doing the sights when she stumbled over a very large envelope outside a large posh London Hotel. She picked it up and there was thousands of pounds of cash all labeled flowers, DJ, catering ect. Turns out there was a big wedding at the hotel so the wife handed it over to the receptionist. When she got home I went mad, told her she has probably paid for the receptionists holiday abroad and that she should have handed it in to the Police, that way if it hadn't been claimed it could have been our holiday paid for, dozy mare ;D

And I would hand it to DWP.
I had a suitcase left in my pub a few years ago and it was full of what I thought were blocks of chocolate, it turned out they were blocks of some sort of drugs.
No-one ever claimed it, I kept it for about 14 days then showed a regular and she called the police, who arrived after three days and took it away and I never heard anymore.

i would have a rather big hangover and possibly a sore bishop.   :) :)

many years ago when my mates came out the airport at miami, they see a man being chased and watched him lob a bag into the bushes. 25k between them made the holiday a bit better.

When the copper unwrapped the cling film it looked all sticky, you could never eat that.
I am a self confessed chocoholic but was way to much for me.
Anways, it was some sort of drug.
