I like it on here. It seems much the same as when I joined in 2008. The word filter gets on my tits at times and I can feel a little too much "political correctness" creeping in....but overall it'a still a fun place to be. :y :y

i cant remember when i first joined because i closed my account and reopened it again minutes later to flush my 1800 posts away to show i was sick of hearing about post counts..it was a daft moment i had and some of you may remember it but in the time ive been on ive had some great laughs much so the wife sometimes looks over and thinks im daft for laughing all the time, ive learnt things useful and learnt a load of shite too ;Dsometimes it seems to go for days without change and its boring but then someone comes along and sprinkles some magic and it fires up again,i dont like all the politics so i choose not to read them and dont care for the polls cos it wont change out but in general i like to pop on here and try to have a laugh..as bernard manning said they cant stop us laughing

and TB can i have my posts back ;D :y

Having been on very nearly from its birth, The forum definitely has changed - however I see that as a natural thing. It is definitely less personal but that is to be expected with 6000 members.

It is still a fantastic forum. Without it I would have given up on Omegas years ago.

Maybe and it is only a maybe some changes that could be made could include.

A section for "Over 18's" stuff and who better to moderate than Mr S.

A current affairs section moderated by who else than Mr Z or Ms L Z

An OOF lounge only open to forum members with say 1000 posts and only on approval from a Mod. That might be an area where people use their real names and things might be a bit more personal

This is the only other forum I go on every day. The "other" being a Spanish forum for Expats.

I think users could be more disciplined with headings. Instead of posting in general help "Yikes" they could say "Problems with spark plug leads". I have lost count of the number of times I have opened on my slow connection something only to find it wasn't of interest or appropriate.

the only bad thing on here is that when you post a new topic it gets hijacked by people talking about something else.

I have been trying hard this morning to think of something worthwhile to say on what Daz has, quiet rightly, stated.  Since I first joined, then left in a huff, and quickly came back within a week it HAS changed, with all too many names disappearing (Psyconurse, Mike Dundee, Ljay, Dusty, etc, etc) that I certainly loved discussion / sparring with!!

However I am not going to burble on.  Rather I will just say Varche has really summarised my feelings, especially on how many members are now on the OOF.  I would add the mix has changed due to that, and certainly Daz is right to say so much humour seems to have disappeared.  I remember those nights with effection when I couldn't stop giggling!! 8-) 8-) 8-) :D :D :D :D

As a newbie i think this site is brilliant, specially as i've had problems with my car.

I've found it's sometimes difficult joining some forums (member of a few bike ones too) when i don't know anyone etc.
I've been made very welcome and even after asking wot i think are stupid questions  :-X I've never bin shot down in flames (prob will now  ;D) !!

I think everyone is still recovering after the winter blues (snow/ice vmas bills etc)  ::)

Keep up with the fantastic work  :y
