Last meet i went to, York II really showed the change in OOF, I don't think we will ever see a return to what it was.

 :-?
We had a great time on our side of the field.  :-? :-?

Thats the whole point, there were two sides.  :(

'our' side was pitched first:P :P :P

No it wasn't Mr B .........

We were the first on site, and Daz'll vouch for that, as moi had to fix-up all the signage!

As someone famously said;

"why can't we learn to get along ?"   :D :D

We only live once, make the best of it, talk 'dangle berries' every now and again but treat ppl how you want to be treated  8-)

As a ex-member of the emergency services, not the 4th  ::), life is short, make the most of it  :y

I also often wonder that the real forum exists in the admin discussions we don't see, I imagine some serious pesh taking behind the scenes.

No bad language, no slagging off, folks READING and THINKING about what the other person has said.

Some lighthearted comments.

Some folks being very honest.

Constructive not destructive thoughts.

Good advice.

exactly what the forum should be .. which just proves it is still possible for the froum to be what it always was .. a fun place that also gives help.

It just needs EVERYONE to think before pressing the send button .... I was told a long time ago when was I was first invited to help mod a site ...

ooooh goody  :o can i get my name down for the prep/training course , everytime i go to chop someones head off the HSE jump in and ask for my tickets etc >:( i've been looking everywhere for night school courses etc but no-ne seems to do them round my way  :y :y :y

Speak to sixstring.  He's yer man.....   ;)

Note to self - Steal Borrow wood from fathers wood stack and bring to Newent.....
Either that or bring a sharp axe and a solid surface to bash the tree against....   ;D

I was always taught to saw (Chainsaw as i'm a lazy sod!) the wood into logs then use the axe to split the logs.... I don't think an axe is really the right tool for attacking half a tree with!

I'm interested to hear what Daz thinks. Clearly it's changed for the worse for him. I wonder if he see's a reason for it...?

Like I said in my orginal post I can write down now who will be at both the Lakes & Newent as the same members go. I also now that at each meet people who I have not met before turn up to have their cars worked on which is great, but not to see them again after until perhaps the following year when again they come for some free work seems to be an insult to me... maybe I am wrong what do you think??

Yes I agree, that is frustrating and a little rude to say the least.   >:( I have withdrawn a little from offering help tbh.

So re oof it's a pc world we live in and we suffer a little because of it?

I've had thoughts of a non public section, say for members with over 1k or 5k posts or something along those lines. Can't see it working though, breeds distrust I guess? And a queue of people moaning they can't get in AND can't sell their car. I also often wonder that the real forum exists in the admin discussions we don't see, I imagine some serious pesh taking behind the scenes.

And I still struggle putting the words down to the level others do too. Mum was right, I should have gone to school.  ;)

Er, yeah rambling now.   :-[.   ;D

Not sure havig a select area would work, I have heard people saying that it is clicky on here. I don't think it , just that a few know each other quiet well owing to the Meets.

I think the moral of all this is If we can get some more members to the Meets they will enjoy it and make friends irt is a huge Ice Breaker...

i believe that a certain someone , not too far away would be crying right now if that were the case  ::) one day your riding high then .......BAM ! your post count is slahed and your back with us newer guys and seperated from your buddies  8-)  back with the proles , cast down from the ivory tower upon high , that which you once surveyed far below you now clawing at you , sucking the knowledge from your very soul desperate to become one of the chosen few .......... would feel a bit clicky , but you are the guys who made this forum what it is so i think its only right that you get to have a little priveledged banter amongst yourselves , i know its an all inclusive kinda place but every club/social gathering has its little clique's its just how it is i reckons .

I have only been here for a year or so and my only previous forum experience was with model helicopter forums.
I have been made very welcome here and spend way to much time trawling through the various sections and try to input when I can,I don't know what it used to be like so can't comment on that but this is by far the most helpful freindly place that I have visited. As far as I am concerned keep up the good work everyone :y :y :y
