But because, IMO, the general OOF membership profile has changed so much :o It's amazing how many perfect people there are on here  ..........  It makes me wonder if I should be spending as much of my time here any more :-/ .....

Thaks for summing up exactly what I was thinking last night as I read some of the quotes here about being weak etc
I can't imagine what her family is feeling like this morning.  :'(

I haven't been here as long as both of you but I agree with what you are saying :(

We all have our deficencies and weaknesses.None of us are perfect. ;)
............except idiots ;)

Resort to veiled insults why don't you. Why not say it to me?

It's a downright disgrace what she's done actually. Wasted her health. How do you think a terminally ill kid would feel about that if they could understand? "mam I've got cancer and I'm going to die but I really don't want to, so why has Amy whinehouse wasted her life?"

I take back everything I said about her, she's a really crack-in lass, a modern day heroine! She had a great deal of torment in her life, caught between a rock and a hard place, but couldn't keep it
under wraps!

Bring back Michael Jackson!

Are you joking? He was a bigger drug taker than AW!

Quite frankly Geoff, I think you're being an insenitive "thing" (because I can't say what I really think without getting banned ::)) and find your attitude sickening! I hope you never have to experience the loss of a child. >:( >:( >:(

Having read some the posts here which are directed at me, I didn't say I don't touch certain chemicals such as alcohol, I just am not addicted. Far from it. I respect the greatest thing I will ever own far too much for that.

And why is it bad, or nasty to say she is/was weak? It's a fact, not a judgement.

I see the usual bunch are ganging up when someone dares express an opinion that is outside the mainstream.

I can have the strongest and hottest of debates without resorting to personal insults. But thanks for being frank LD, but it is AW who should've spoke to Frank.

Why is my attitude sickening then? Because we disagree and that I don't have any sympathy for her?

My family is irrelevant also, but no one in my family would become addicted to drugs. They're not stupid enough.

We're all someones daughter or son. It changes nothing. It doesn't make it any less bad that she's wasted her life and body. But it's her waste. That's not me being nasty, that's just the way it is. There are countless people past and present who haven't been born with the things she, and many of us take for granted.

It is the amount of sympathy for a druggie compared to the lack of comments about the massacre in Norway the train crash in China, sorry but she killed herself and the others were tragidies

Not the lack of sympaty for her... No issue with that whatsoever. It's your total lack of sympathy and compassion for her family and your general attitude that "she got what she deserved"

Hmmmm. I too am on high levels of Morhine patches to control pain but I have not been tempted to act like I had completely lost the plot. No, that comes with the way you have or have no respect for yourself and those who care about you. Obviously her greed for fame outstripped her conscience because she could always have said NO. Anyway was she not breaking out of rehab and doing her own thing every time she got the urge to enter herself into rehab with full publicity.
Was this yet another publicity orientated 'cry for help' again that had gone wrong? Probably going on her past history....
Anyway.... It is the people of Norway who deserve our sympathy. MH abused her talent and did nothing to help herself.

Who are you to judge me on whether or not I have sympathy or compassion? Who said I have no sympathy or compassion for her family? It must've been you because it wasn't me. Surely if they cared about her that much they would've done a bit more to look after her.

You also assume that I think "she got what she deserved". Who said this? Not me either, so it must've been you.

Her death is her own fault, her mistakes. We all make mistakes, but the smallest and most innocent of mistakes can have massive consequences. You might not deserve those consequences, but it's still your fault. Simple.

Beginning to think the whole drug carry on with her was a staged publicity stunt, then it got out of control, now she's dead. I'll be glad when it's off the news and we get more newsworthy items on.

We've all passed comments on her death, myself included.

We all live our lives to a certain degree the way we choose, she chose the life she lived & knew that one day it would kill her. No one put her arm behind her back & said snort/take this. That is why i have no sympathy at all.
As another member has stated, she was also someone that young people look up & so should set an example.
We all live & die, what we choose to do between the two times is ours.

OK I suppose I am one of those being targeted as a person with no feelings etc.
I don't mind that, It was only about a week ago people where saying there where not enough discussions/arguments. Well when there is, people complain.

I would just say if this was a 27 year old bloke who was not famous I doubt anyone would care at all.

I do totally agree that it is terrible for her family, and if I offended them I apologise. I do not apologise for any comments about her.
