F1 on SKY
« on: 29 July 2011, 08:14:57 »

So we lose the full F1 programme on the BBC from next year. SKY SPORT will show all Practice, Qually, and the Races live, while BBC will show only half on the races live with the rest in a highlights format. >:( >:( >:(
I only use freeview so what is the cheapest way to get SKY SPORT, which I would only want for F1, and perhaps the TEST MATCHES

Well I do watch F1, but won't go out of my way to see it if you know what I mean.

If it will be on sky then I will not pay for it. I do have a rather basic sky package which I have slowly been reducing over a number of years.  I ain't gonna pay them more for F1 that's for sure.

The BBC will have highlights on TV, online and mobile for any race it it is not showing live .. i can live with that as some of the races can drag on a bit and i end up nodding off  :D. so highlights are not so bad and there is no way ill will be giving sky any of my hard earned  >:( :)

Also I bet it will be on their football channels as well.

And also there is no Conditional Access Module if you have a decent sat box.

I wonder who will be live streaming?

Complaint is already on its way to BBC

when the price goes up, what chance do the BBC have?

fixed income from the license fee.

would you pay an extra £20 a year on your tv license to postpone this for a bit.  Sky and the others just have to put the price up - easy for them, or show a few more adverts.

And then, what next, wimbledon etc?  another £20 a year for that? money only goes so far, they cant please everyone all the time.

I sure as hell dont want to pay for any sports - via bbc or sky, so why should I subsidse them for others?

I actually like the sky model for that - pay for what suits you.

Only the commercials really stand a chance in the open market.

Maybe the role of the BBC should be really reviewed  :-/

I don't want to see MY licence fee wasted on the likes of Dr Who.  The fact I don't like that, would that entitle me to discount?

Personally, I'm glad the BBC has started to drop F1. I just hope they will go the whole hog soon ;).  The problem is, the BBC seem to think that viewers want more knobenders and reality shite.

For sports lovers, they have accepted they need sky now anyway.

The downside is the majority of people I know are now dropping Sky, and very few are signing up to it.  Maybe its the demographics of where I am, as Sky have announced some impressive results (not convinced they aren't entirely true though).

Now the beeb (esp BBC One)has chavved itself up for the stupid end of the intelligence spectrum, maybe its time to lose the licence fee, and let it stand on its own 2 feet with adverts/pay tv.

So yet another major sport goes to rather Sky >:( >:( This means the average man on the street no longer has access to any major sports on TV unless they stump up bucket loads of cash to line Murdoch's filthy pockets even more for the priviledge. Boxing, cricket, football etc. etc. and now F1, where will it end?? I refuse to pay a single penny to Sky as they're thieving barstewards as far as I'm concerned - even if you subscribe to Sky Sports, the tinkers still want to charge you even more by making many top sporting events pay-per-view. Bo11ocks.....I'm really hacked off now! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

......and if you do stump up your hard earned to Sky, you get an unhealthy dose of adverts throughout the race as a bonus! >:(

Ecclestone is the culprit, IMHO. He always said F1 would remain on free-to-air. Yeah, right, Bernie.  ::) ::) >:(

I think a large amount of BBC money goes on Knobenders and on over paid knobs like Graham Norton and the fat radio presenter.

I would rather they pay cutted such people down rather than drop F1
