Ive seen 150 in my 3.0 auto estate on a private road
and 149 in her 3.0 manual estate on the same private road.

I would say both had a little more to give, but would have taken time and space I didnt have.

I dont think any retail model is going to get you off the speedo though.
I didn't know the A55 was private ::) ;D ;D

think bigger  :y

no limiters afaik, as the max stated speed is under the 165mph 'gentlemans agreement'

Gentlemans agreement is 155 mph. not 165.

I used to own a ex nottingham plod senator with calibrated speedo and on a strech of autoban near bonn i saw 155 mph on it.Would add that it was still in plod spec so slightly lighter than retail and with a manual box. I have also owned an ex nottingham plod unmarked omega 3.0 manual although quicker to pull off in than the senator once on the move they felt as quick as each other straight sixes are better for top end as apposed to v sixes

Of course you could just plug in a Tech II or Opelscanner and set the speedo to read any speed you like (including off the scale) for a photo.  ;)

On the issue of police senny's, I was once following my father in my car, in the outside lane overtaking everything on the M6, when I noticed in the rear mirror a police car with everything on coming up very fast.

I moved over quickly, but to my amazement my father just sat there whilst this senny, lit up like a Christmas tree, with two's, drove up towards his rear.   Eventually dad moved over, and I can only imagine what the officers said of my middle aged dad! ::) ::) ::)  I'd have given him a ticket, but we certainly ribbed him over it for some time afterwards!

............and yes that senny was doing well over 150 mph (I know what we were doing!!) 8-) 8-) 8-) :D ;)
