Sorted HG's, so far no problems :y

Only thing I now have is a slight oil leak, which Im suspecting is coming from the NS rocker/cam cover as its dropping onto exhaust and smoking.... but its only a very slight leak... will have a look if I get chance later...

Also removed the AC pipes as it didnt work, even after being regassed twice.... so removed all pipework, just need to find my spare aux belt off my old Vectra (non AC) and fit that so I can remove the AC compressor too :)

Going to keep my eye on how much water is being used for next couple days... hopefully it'll be none :)

Fitted leather gaiters to the gear and handbrake levers to replace the shabby vinyl originals

I'd like some of these, where from Nick? :y

Ebay of course. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FITS-OMEGA-C-99-03-LEATHER-GEAR-SHIFT-HANDBRAKE-GAITER-/390774156928?  £12 for the pair. You'll need some contact adhesive, and a sharp blade.

They look much better than the stock ones.

Thanks very much Nick.

Cheers

Chris :y :y :y

PS Ordered already! :y :y :y

Its a Gates Micro-V XF 6PK1725 - from Vauxhall World Parts originally - they list it to include X20XEV 1994-2003 - PM incoming.

Maybe it goes into "automatic drag reduction mode" when you enter the twilight zone around 3 figures. ;D

Wasted 3 hours of chrisgixers time trying to solve my issues :'(
Checked trims and maf ouput and found no issues there, afaict.
Weren't LTFTs a bit off, albeit not by much, but show there may be a potential issue?

Ideally, the LTFTs need checking after a couple of hundred miles now they have been reset.
-2 and +2 long term. My old 3.2 often showed plus or minus 3 before I gassed it. So didn't think much of an error there. Is that an issue?

Don't think I'd have the bottle with a car that age. :o

Yes.  On petrol, DBW V6's should have both banks at 0 at all times.  If they both drift the same way, suspect the MAF (or airleak near the MAF), if one drifts and other doesn't, suspect an air leak much nearer the cylinder, or in the exhaust beyond, or suspect lamdas.

However, that's not enough of a drift to cause problems IMHO. Given your text description, I'd be suspicious of either the gearbox or its ECU (don't tell Unlucky Alf ;D).  But the current symptoms are not the same as the symptoms from a few weeks ago?
