Tried to start the RX8, failed (dead battery despite being on a maintenance charger, methinks it's finally goosed).
Listed it on gumtree/ebay/pistonheads.

Clearing space so there's less to move if the house move comes off (offer accepted, mortgage application going in..). Anyone want a cheap RX8 that needs a rebuild?

Does it need work?

Almost certainly needs a rebuild (at least apex seals) due to the usual fault and new battery.. there's a ding in the drivers door (not large) and a blister on the top of the rear offside door. Everything else is in pretty good nick with 62k on the clock.

On the other hand it also has upgraded LS2 coils (Rotary Revs D585 kit), Magnecor leads and it's only up at £875 although I'd probably take less than that as long as it's more than the value of the coil kit (unlike the first offer I had).

Dropped mine off at the garage for the MOT.

It has done 208,000 miles and is starting to get a bit frilly round the edges. It felt rather like leaving an old dog at the vets knowing that I might get a phone call to say that they could keep her going but it would be kinder to put her to sleep  :-\

Drove it 424 miles including 190 (ish) with Bigrons 'van on the back ...  total cost of LPG £64.57 (15.23 pence/mile), estimated cost if petrol had been used £99.88 (23.56 pence/mile) a saving of 8.33 pence/mile (£35.31) or 35% which is pretty good, IMHO, given the low cost of petrol at the moment.

Fuel costs/prices are all over the shop, LPG prices are what I paid, petrol the posted price at the same fuel station.

Fleet services : LPG 54.9 (about average)  petrol 114.9 (ouch)
Sainsburys Colney : LPG 59.9 (above average) petrol 99.9 (dirt cheap)
Swindon: LPG 52.0 (slightly below average)  petrol 101.9 (slightly below average)

There are a few things I have been putting off because I wasn't confident it was a keeper
- the oil pan has a rust hole in it  ???
- the drivers 'memory mirror' has alzheimers
- the wheels need a refurb - I have to pump the tyres up every week
- finally - something has started to whine - I don't think it is a wheel bearing, I think it is either gearbox or diff :-\

Repaired the front pax door lock on the TD by replacing the DB2 m/s. Glad I bought 4 when I did the driver's door. :y
