More chance of pulling your foreskin up over your head to keep your ears warm than there is of finding circular prefacelift wheels. They were £236.01 new when available, but all stock has now been long sold.  At one point, I had 9 here, all either ovaled or buckled (the buckling from a simple epic understeer moment).

I guess what I'm saying, cut your loses and fit something that won't oval when it sees a tiny pothole at 100 paces.

Shame, they look lovely, but they aren't worth the effort/expense.

As I think pretty much all aftermarket wheels look too chavvy for a 17yr old Saxo owners, I went for facelift MV6 rims on mine...

i do really like the 10 spokes, but i see what you mean tho.. held 2 wheels one 17" vec c elite alloy & the mv6 & a big difference in weight! i do like the elite vectra alloys ive got shame about offset & having to run spacers tho... i may just get a set of facelift elite alloys but again tryin to find good ones....
ive found a nice set of 19s ive got to go pickup for mine so may not need the 17s for a while unless i need tyres or winter comes again...
well i will put an add in the wanted section when i hit 250 posts see if i can find 1 or 2 as a spare set...

Fixed the controls for the display in the dash and washed it. Ordered some shocks to take apart from Ebay too. £20 for the pair, fine by me!

Changed oil and filter, air filter, cleaned all breather pipes and throttle body, checked wishbones and steering, everything seemed OK :y
Going to renew petrol filter and check rear axle tomorrow.

P S
Auto Addicts Note (in  Maintenance Guide, How to clean drive by wire throttle body) saying the photo's were taken before cleaning, not after, struck me, because after cleaning and scrubbing for ages, mine did not look as clean as A A's did before cleaning.   :-[ :-[   ;) ;)

Drained a Merc at lunch time, then rushed back home to change the rear pads on the neighbour's Avensis (he had the wrong ones at the weekend and only managed to change them yesterday ::)) because they really needed the car on the road for tomorrow. 45 minutes including tools out/away, a cuppa and pumping up a slow puncture for them ;) I was quite pleased with that :y

MrsG's nephew came round with "a clonk" on his Polo. Newer and very different undernieth than ours. Drove round the block with him. Smooth as a baby's bum over speed bumps. Open the window and there's a slight squeak both over bumps and with on/off load through the transmission.
Back home poke about, nothing obvious, stick it in gear and push the car back and forth and we get the squeak. Wishbone bush fubar. Guess who's got the job....Sigh.

Put mine in for MOT - she now has a shiny new certificate.
As from tomorrow she'll be replacing my Carlton as my daily driver.   :y
