Cooksley and Cobb, Lyons Avenue on way to AshVale from Farnborough :y

Tunnie if you read my list you would note that Fleet service station and fleet services both sides are three different garages.

Given cars require fuel to work, it's more akward to not fuel them than it is to drive ten minutes to get some ::) I presume your Desmond still has the capability of running on petrol. This should give you reasonable choice of lpg sites given it's purported 450 mile petrol range...

www.lpgmap.co.uk for reference :y

400+ is easy to do, filling up a Shell M3 currently, as it's bang on the commute and 0.69p  :)

Even if I converted the 3.2 now, to LPG, it would take around 18 months to pay it off I think. Combination of taking the bike (much easier to park at work/leave lot later) holidays & working from home.

Just crunching some numbers, running the Elite on petrol to work is still cheaper than the train  ;D

Tunnie, you'll get twice the range of anyone here, no matter what tank size. ;)

Like I said, Tunnster won't notice a donut tanks short comings.

The most expensive LPG I've seen recently is 75.9p, and that's not motorway. Given the cheapest around here is 71.9p (BP Brakkers), don't get hung up on prices being more expensive than you used to get on the M40 ;)

Had you have LPG'd it when first discussed, it would have already paid for itself.

Or get a shitbox Zafira... ;)

It's miles are too low, I think even if I LPG'd it when I first got it, still maybe now just about to pay it off.

I'd estimate close to £1k all in to convert, £350 odd for front end, £400 for rear? Then always a fair amount of little bits here and there, odds and sods needed. Fuel there and back in coverting, have to be done in Brackley.

Payments in curry and beer tokens for any services rendered, doubt I'd see change of much of from 4 figures.

Just been doing some numbers on spreadsheet, looking at miles covered to work. Taking workings days, minus holidays, work from home, ect, then throw in using the bike. It's looking around 16 months easy to pay it back.

I guess if I LPG'd it this summer, if it had to switch to commuting be a lot easier. Have to be a donut tank job though.  :(

For the cost of LPG'ing the 3.2, I could get one, which would probably do same MPG.  ;D

I can tell you which is the most comfortable, the quickest, the most relaxing and the most fun. As a clue, it ain't the Zaffy!

But my needs are not the same as yours.

Oh, and the MPGs for the Zaffy since I've owned it are (for each tank):

35.66
40.50
34.83
36.65

So even I get better ppm economy from a bloody great 3.2 auto Omega than a shitbox 2.0DTi Zaffy.

I would not be the main driver, maybe I should stop linking myself to car number 2 and me liking it  ::)

Recent trip to Ireland, when I had this....

MrsT said, "Ooo, this car is nice"  ::)

So I think the Elite is a bit lost on her to be honest  ;D

Liberated a HBV and associated plumbing from an Omega at the local scrappy in readiness for the forthcoming assault on my coolant leak!  :y  I don't intend to use the HBV as mine is fairly new and it was really the pipes I was after, but as there was no signs of leakage I thought I'd have it anyway!  ;)
