Had new battery fitted this morning(Thanks Birthday Boy ;D ;D).
This afternoon I thought I would whip the rear bumper off and change the bumper bar, it turned out to be a 6 hour job >:( bar was twisted and split and bent, managed to get it off just to find brackets twisted and bent and the back off the car had been pushed in.

Anyway after 6 hours new bar on nice and straight irmscher bumper sitting nice and hopfully no more rattles.

Somebody been playing bumper cars previously. :(

But how's the gremlins, so far?

That car has definitely had a whack up the arse at some point... No chassis damage as I recall though :y

I recall seeing summat when investigating that rattle...  Was the bottom of the bumper attached? Memory is a bit hazy, not helped by having repaired another silver Elite at around the same time... ::)

yes it was I put nuts and bolts thru them. I think after taking it all apart then putting new bar on and bumper the bumper does not move around as much. Time will tell but I think it was all down to the bar been swashed against the body.

Re-wired the hardwire for the dashcam to a different power source - one that wouldn't cause interference on the CID.  ::)

Found that one of the pressure sensors on the Alhambra's AC is faulty - which according to a certain code reader is intermittent - funny really as when you clear the code it comes straight back so I wouldn't say it's that intermittent.  ::)

Reset the 0420 / 0430 codes on the 2.6... I really must fit some Lamda's in the bosses fitted by Daz 18 months ago  ::) ;D

Air con nitrogen pressure tested... passed no leaks, vacuumed down

refilled with oil and refrigerant, temp from the vents 7 degrees C with an air temp of 22 degrees C... I is happy with that !!  :)

SO, many thanks to Mark DTM for the replacement compressor, Daz for fitting it, and Taxi Dave for the contact details of the air con man ...

Thanks to OOF we'll be nice and cool in France .. :)
