I put 2 bottles of cataclean in the Elite the other week at 1/4 tank, used it until the fuel light was on then topped up, did 5 miles and EML come on. Reset with maxScan and drove to Scotland on a full tank, light still off at the moment but have 2 more bottle of cataclean in the car to give it another dose. Only had one bank up when the EML light come on after first dose.  :y

The only real solution to 0420 and 0430 codes on a 3.2 (and 2.6, though less common) is to move the sensors.

Cataclean at best will only be a short term solution.

It's becoming a well known fact that   ::)::)that I do very little work on my cars as I have a very short attention span and anger management problems SO.....many thanks to HKT for his hard work and perseverance on Saturday whilst upgrading the springs and shocks on the red 3.2. Car is now lowered 30mm with Bilstein B4's and Eibach springs and I think it looks the doggies danglies :y  Definitely needed the work done as rear n/s spring was broken and the shocks were all fubared,so once again Al to the rescue....car handles like a dream, goes round the twisties like it should and then all it needs is some new tyres and a four wheel alignment...job's a good 'un :y

Have a set in the parts shed that need sensors moving :y

The pleasure is now all mine, because it's amazing how the driving experience dropped away so gradually over the car's 90,000 miles that I didn't realise it was so crap and it was only when the wheels came for a refurb did I find the broken rear spring which flagged up the need for a suspension upgrade. The car was getting to be a bit of a puddle jumper due to the shocks etc being so tired. Quality job :y

Spent all weekend trying to change the alternator on the BMW.. after two days I got to this point but still the alternator is wedged in there, seemingly stuck between the oil cooler and alternator bracket :(

[edit] That's - radiator fan out, serpentine belt off, idler pulley off, wheel off, arch liner out, undertray off.. and still stuck.  Next thing is to try lifting the engine slightly.

Its a 3.0 Striaght Six, the first batch of cars were all 3.0 and the 3.9 came later. If i can find an Irmscher crank at the right money i might look at taking to a 3.6 as it will have more grunt than the 3.9 and won't have the over heating problems.
