Wasted two gallons of fuel driving to my local Vx dealer to collect some bits that I had ordered last Friday...

Produced two bags of completely different parts, and then got all arsey when I pointed out that they were all wrong because he couldn't tell the difference between lower cross memberand crash bar on the EPC >:(

Apparently that branch only sells retail, so 5w30 is £42+vat for 5 litres... No offers or deals... So i politely laughed in his face and told him what I thought of his abilities...

Be interesting to see what parts arrive on Monday, but I suspect his manager might be getting an earful if they're wrong a second time.

But clearly customer loyalty counts for shit... I have bought six cars from them over the last 9 years :-\

On the road again....   well, almost....  top-end rebuild on both heads after CHG failure (on cylinder 3 oddly enough), heads are back on, engine timed, exhausts on, coolant system filled and pressure tested, just the electrics, fuel and inlet to put back.

Replaced knackered scuttle with an nice unbroken one, sealed it in and also fitted a pair of Insignia washer jets whilst I was there...

Also had the black one running for about four hours... Just about started off my 'dead' battery. I had charged it overnight about a month ago. No charge light, and started off charging at 14.4v, before gradually dropping down to 13.45 at idle. Will check voltage again when I get home as it will then have been off the car for 24 hours, so should have settled.
