Had a slight boo-boo cutting out bushes (Jag lower arms):

I think it'll be OK with the poly bushes in there, learned folks? (As long as the poly bush isn't forced to rotate in the arm)

Repaired yet more wires in the door loom on the Alhambra, really need to source a complete door loom I think as there's getting less and less scope to repair this one, at least the drivers door now locks and the LED flashes, all four windows work off the drivers controls and the electric mirrors work. Only fault is the fold flat function on the mirrors.

Repaired the wiper assembly on the new 3.2 as the wipers travelled to far in both directions - motor spindle wobbled so guess bearings collapsed and rods had play in the ends so replaced with another set. Reset the motor park position and refitted it all with a scuttle I had already fitted with Insignia washer jets. All sealed up and tested.

Repaired spare key with new switches and replacement cover and then had to program it to the car, must have lost it's programming when I was soldering the switches I guess.  :-\

Meant to do more but ran out of time and light.  :(

Almost kissed goodbye to it (and maybe myself) as some stupid bint in a Micra drove straight out in front of me,from a side road on my left, when I was doing around 50mph,on a national speed limit road.
I believe I was able to just miss her as I had already started braking, as I noticed she didn't seem to be looking to her right at the junction, but was concentrating on what was coming from her left, for some reason. As soon as she saw a gap in the traffic from her left, she floored it.
A bit of instinct / experience saved me I think.
Its scary how many of these type of drivers are loose on the roads these days.  ::)

Nothing to worry about. Although smoothing any burr off the edges of the cuts would be sensible. A fine round file or some wet&dry will easily do that.

Ta Nick  :y and yep, I was going to knock the edges off before the new bushes go in - the whole arm has to be hit with the wire brush and chassis black first anyway  :) (When the paint arrives, that is)

A mere scratch, just flat it off with bit of, emery paper, or 800 wet dry.

Worth putty in a bit of chemical metal epoxy in that jag arm, just to keep it smooth?

Yeah I might well do that after it's been rust treated, it'll only need a smidge  :y (That's a technical unit of measurement, naturally)

My father's technical unit for small measurements was "a fanny full"

That was a different era, sadly.
