Don't forget to fit the drivetrain before you drop the body back on...

Yeah - having now done it both ways it is a lot easier to put the engine in after the body .. largely on account of the exhaust ports being wider than the (bottom of) the footwells they have to fit between ;D ;D

With an engine crane and secondary chain hoist to raise & lower the tail of the gearbox it only took a couple of minutes to get the engine out through the bonnet hole.

And as a bonus we missed all the bodywork ;D

;D ;D Yep, when it's painted it's sure to become a magnet for anything sharp, hard or abrasive within a 20ft radius..

I've fitted a roller door before and am aware what a hernia-inducing experience it can be. Even then, I managed to knacker the motor somehow. ::) I will probably be wimping out and getting it fitted, I think.  ;)

but.. progress on the snake! :y :y :y

Kevin, if you need a hand give me a shout.  :y

Gives me a chance to return that dehumidifier  :-[ :-[

Also gives you a chance to take the pi$$ at my VW  :D  ;D

Much appreciated. I'll bear that in mind if I decide to do a DIY job. :y

Drove it for the first time since changing the thermostat, camcover, camcover gasket, oil, oil filter, climate panel and emissions bulb, last week.
Everything just as it should be, with a nice hot blast from the heater. Just as well as its brass monkey weather out there.
Must get the naff code reader out and clear the emissions code though, as that orange light on the dash is driving me nuts.
Almost worth moving the lamdas to get rid of it permanently.

Fill it up with shell super fuel, a bottle of octane booster, then give it a good run,

Replaced the diesel return pipe above the rear axle. Noticed a small drip of diesel coming of the bottom of the diff yesterday so thought I should get it sorted ASAP.

Went to put some electricity in the Battlebus, but the charger was complaining it was faulty before I connected it. I should have tested the charger before I took battery off the car, knowing how unreliable these Halfords chargers are*

Couldn't be arsed to put battery back on, job for another day.

Changed the bonnet release spring for the bonnet catch on the daily driver. Can now open the bonnet without having to bounce on the bonnet!
