Discs and pads all round and a front wheel bearing on the Bini.

Couldn't change the oil though as whomever last did it managed to weld the filter cap on >:(

Might take it for a blast and try again heated up...

Those alloy filter tops are a Bastard to undo.
It's plastic from the look of it, but it don't fancy tearing the housing off the block trying to undo it ;D

That said I did start to take an angle grinder to the nsf disc because the retaining nut had seized solid. Then I remembered that I was changing that hub so dropped the hub and disc off together instead of taking my face off again ::)
Hmm.....angle grinder would have made for better pics  :-\

Took delivery of 2 rover v8 engines and an auto box on a pallet, driver managed to get it to the door but his trolley.  didnt like the door step. Had to unload it all ,not so bad as engines in bits and then sit the pallet in my workshop and reload it. 2 engines to make one as one block is bad but has good crank and the other block is good but has bad crank. Should make the Hereford move along nicely.

Well, got it nice and warm and eventually managed to get the cap to undo. Turns out it is alloy. It just had so much oil caked over it that it may as well have been plastic.

Slightly more worrying was having drained almost two litres of oil, it still took four and a half litres to refill it.

Camcover gasket and a bloody good clean before it gets flogged.

At last, the sun was shining for the whole day and it was not too cold, and my health seemed up for it...........so changed HBV, changed oil filter and oil.  Cleaned breather system and replaced a section of breather pipe.

Checked also the plug wells, and thank goodness no sign of oil, so could leave the cam cover gaskets for later in the spring/summer.

Finished before the light started to fade, felt exhausted, but pleased and satisfied .  Onto the MOT next week! :D ;)

If the cam cover gaskets arent leaking, why do you want to replace them ?

I don’t ……..yet.  But we know that in due course they will need doing so I am now prepared to either do them myself, which I don’t want to, but hey ho, or go to Serek!;) ;)

Removed the airbox from the Mondeo so that I could pull the flat battery out to put it on charge overnight.  ::)
