Bought another one.... BMW 330i (E92) M Sport Coupe. 2010 with 66K on the clock.  :)

Nice one.  :y  I had a few E92’s, in both 335d/330d and 330i guise and loved them.  :y  We liked them so much that we even had ‘his and hers’ E92’s at the same time, with hers being the petrol as she didn’t do the miles that I did. They sit on the road nicely and handle really well when pushed. I was sad to see the last one go but we moved on to the 4 series coupe.

I know it’s a terrible photo of my last E92 330d, but I didn’t take many photos of them back then.  ::)
Hope yours serves you well.  :y

Lovely car! I wanted a petrol non-turbo car for the simpler mechanicals, never owned a coupe before and thought I'd better correct that!

Had all 4 alloys on the merc refurbed.  they were in a disgusting state from a previous refurb before I bought it, and some werent holding air very well.
Stripped, tidied, primed and sprayed.  very happy.  Were diamond cut previously, but opted for a more long lasting repair.

Popped a new thermostat on the kids corsa as drove that one day when mine was out of action to find it wouldnt get to temp.  lovely now.

Put some coolant in the project corsa to see how it heated up with more than just water, and didnt seem to overpressurise.  other than replacing stat, coolant flange and one hose....it may be all required.  not the HG the RAC diagnosed.   not that I mind either way, was got to get my hands dirty on.

Worth checking that the fan(s) work as they should. Overheating Bini was simply that.

Ah. keep an eye on that, JLR cars are somewhat sensitive to buggered batterys, and letting it go very flat will have damaged it a bit.  Fingers crossed no issues, but always best to be forewarned and prepared :y

Tried to diagnose an intermittent issue on sons 05 Civic.
Every once in a while the temp gauge climb to the top and at the same time very little heat comes from the vents with heater turned up to max.
Im thinking possibly a sticky thermostat ?   :-\

Funny enough I checked my service records / receipts and I put this one on just over 5 years ago so I've ordered a new one this morning 👍

My start/stop battery is seven years old and the bastard still switches off the engine if I forget to press the button. That's means it's at least 85% charged.

The RRS is a 2007 it has had a total of three batteries from new so far , so this will be number 4 when I fit it tomorrow, not unusual at all apparently according to the RR forum, my old  Hyundai Terracan was 14 years old when I got rid of it  in 2019 & still had the original battery.

Overheating and no heat from the vents sounds like a lack of coolant circulation to me. Has it got some air in the system? Or exhaust gas? :(

Not sure yet Kevin. Had a new waterpump when the cambelt was done about 6 months ago, by local garage.
It only happens once in a while though. It was ok for about a month, but then it happened again last night.
Can try bleeding it, and maybe buy a sniff tester type thing ?
Thanks for the input.  :y
