had a couple of calls from Jeromy and Tailo today, upshot is stako are delivering a straight swap new tank on monday under warranty to replace the dented tank.
But this still leaves me with a single hole tank!
As opposed to the four hole ive paid and arranged for to avoid top end trip out to petrol and give better flow at the pump. They now say stako dont make a four hole upright teroidal, even though Jeromy never batted an eye lid when said it was a saloon, they cant get one from anywhere else and they are out of pocket as this one costs more...

A further call to Tailo confirmed what jeromy says and that the a single hole tank should be fine if 8mill pipe is used for the 3.2. Which begs the question why did Jeromy suggest the 4 hole in the first place? Esp when they first said the 4 hole was more expensive!
Jeromy must have assumed i had an estate, after he" lost my notes" as he put it, because i was asking for a donut tank. I certainly never told him that, i remember telling him all about needing the through space and all that. Have to say my BS sensors have been kicking up a bit over this...

Aaaanyway, does anyone know/can advise if the single hole will flow enough gas, and if not, an upright 4 hole teroidal tank supplier?

Ps on the plus side the single hole has all the gubbins in the centre of the tank with a flush fitting rubber sealed cover, so this looks like it should allow the carpet spare wheel cover to fit over the top so should look neater. Could not see how the cover was going to fit over the alloy external  seal on the 4 hole. :-)

Single hole tank is absolutely fine, mate.

I'm not even sure you need the 8mm pipe - just remember it's going to be bottlenecked to 6mm in places anyway..

Thanks James, mind at rest again.  :y

Getting to the point where ive run out of excuses and have to actually start installing the bloody thing. Q 3 months of rain sleet and snow, by which time petrol will be 70p a litre. Still, soon be christmas. :-)

He only said to me that the single hole multivalve was "getting marginal" for a 3.2. Not sure what it's rated at. TBH, the whole kit is struggling a little at maximum revs anyway. Rail injectors are a bit clunky for that sort of engine speed IMHO.

However, at the less frenetic end where you do 99.9% of your driving any tank / pipe / multivalve combo will work like a dream.

IIRC, I remember a comment that Teilo was getting some multivalves with a higher power capability?

Sounds like the single hole tank is the easier of the two to fit, it will be cheaper than the 4 hole and most likely it'll be entirely adequate. As James said, some of the LPG liquid fittings have 6mm or less diameter anyway, so not sure if 8mm pipe actually buys you much if you've got to go down to 6mm to get into the vapouriser, for example. I would still use 8mm.

Sassanach had a vertical toroidal single hole on a 3.0 IIRC. I wonder if he had any issues? Certainly none that I remember.
