....
As only one spring is missing, am I right in saying that the rattle springs are the same across both rear callipers ?
According to Vauxhall, they are different but I can't see how the hell they can be if the pads are the same  ???

they're different. The spring spans the edge of the disc ..... vented disc is twice as thick  ;)

Don't panic...

Firstly, I was out on my pricing, I had to order a set for another car and they were nearer £45 from VX :-[

Secondly, Jason at Allgerman has confirmed that they are available as a stock item for about a tenner 8)

Ahhh - I was about to suggest looking at other cars (later Vectras for instance?) which may have a thicker pad, and consequently longer pins. All good. And Allgermanparts the way to go!!  :y :y

20mm vs. 12mm.

FITTING THE NARROW SPRING TO A VENTED CALIPER WILL MOST LIKELY JAM THE PADS APART... ESSENTIALLY LOCKING THE REAR BRAKES OFF. ALMOST AS STUPID AS FITTING SOLID DISCS TO VENTED CALIPERS.

Apologies for shouting, but the point needed to be clear :y

Bladdy hell!!! I was thinking of getting a set, having read posts, but thought 'well, obviously won't bother ordering a set now, they're never getting here before Christmas, might as well leave it until New Year' That's great service!!!!  :y :y

Gm only...  Bear with me as out with the great unwashed but have part numbers at home ;)

About £10 for four pins and two springs iirc
Even trade, I think its more than that without the vat ;)

The last set I acquired in early November were well over that, about two thirds of what TG was quoted, but so much has happened since then, my mind has gone to mush :-\

But good to know a reliable, sensibly priced option is readily available  8)

Admittedly before my garage went, I think that trade was about £4 per pin, and a couple of quid per spring, plus the VAT.  This worked out approx. half the GM retail - I remember looking fully at receipt due to cost.
