....

I thought you were an electricial  ??? :-\

Only to a degree  ;) .......... plus I'd need STAR (MB's Tech II) to tell the car that it no longer had Airmatic
That might get complicated as non airmatic will almost certainly have air assisted rear springs plus standard shocks :-\

Now you've said that ...... you're right

Are these not the struts which have the seal set at the top which fails, I seem to recall MB doing a seal kit for them?

:-\ I asked MB parts if they did other than the full strut eg just the bag. He didn't mention a seal kit. From what indies on the MB forum say, it tends to be the bag that punctures :-\

Is this site any help? https://aerosus.co.uk/mercedes/r-class-w251.html

Quite sensible prices there :y :y
And a two year guarantee so must be reasonable quality.

Have a look for discussions about fixing Range Rover P38 air suspension.

Owners of older Range Rovers were not squeamish about fitting non standard suspension components and that encouraged aftermarket manufacturers. Some of those manufacturers now sell parts for Mercedes.

I don't have any personal experience of any of these suppliers - you will have to make your own mind up about the quality of what is on offer....

Those prices certainly make diy a viable option, even if it's to get the car working and sold ;)

The non-standard suspension components made aftermarket for the P38 in my experience were BETTER than the originals and some had life-time guarantees. Can't think of the name now (its a while since I fought with said air-bags) but ARNOT rings a bell  :-\

If its anything like Land rover air suspension be careful with the pump, leaky Bags on the Discovery 2 were often followed by a knackered pump from trying to keep it up :-\

That's exactly what Mercedes said, but apart from Monday when it was driven for a few miles to collect SWMBO & her C3, it's been sat (low) on my drive. Thanks for the thought though  :y
