Sorry! I've genuinely been busy ..... duty FLT driver  ;) ..... We've yet to discuss money, the only time it has been briefly mentioned was when I suggested they drop my car off & I'd call later when 'we could argue over who pays what' ...... his reply was 'that would be a one way argument'  ::) ::)

Did I mention the ESP light coming on as they were driving to my house? It was as I said it would be, they'd buggered up the ABS sensor, so now I'm waiting for the sensor to arrive  :-X :-X
It'll be delivered tomorrow ....... again!

Obviously there's no payment due from you for bodywork repairs, abs sensor also down to them I'd say.As for the original problem assuming car is not still under some form of warranty you could argue for some kind of "goodwill" payment from MB which may go some way to off setting cost of repair.I know Ford and Citroen do at times give this "goodwill".Stand your ground as they've had it in for repair returned it not repaired and had it back in for repair only to go and get it damaged whilst in their care.

Not only did they return it NOT fixed once, but they did so twice and if I don't get some kind of ''goodwill'' I won't be pleased  ::) ::) and will certainly make it known  :y

Sadly, most main dealers are dismissive of customers with older cars. They'd rather you didn't bother them. :-\

All main dealers aren't interested in fault finding; they are not set up to do it. What they want is a nice straightforward 'service' - drive it on the ramp, change the oil and filter, bung a new air filter on it and charge the customer £400. Oh, and "while it was on the ramp our technician's safety check shows the brake discs and pads will only last another 2k miles - we can do that for only £327"

isn't that the case. I know where it won't ever go to again.

Mercedes have just phoned me to tell me they're setting of shortly to deliver my car to my house, short of crashing on the way .............  ;D it's fixed - eventually! I've to see the repair yet .....  :-X

And regarding payment .......... there's nothing further to pay! Result! He said they've f***ed me about enough so they're standing the extra costs of the airbag.  :y :y

I finish at 4 so it'll still be light enough for examination when I get home.

So they should:

1) Failed to diag. it properly first time
2) The changed a part that didn't need changing based on poor diag.
3) They charged you for the privilege
4) They have put more miles on it than you recently
5) They smashed it up

Did I miss anything lol
