Im not bothered if he gets it or not tbh, but by rights he probably should. It might not be the dream move he wants it to be though.
I read an article yesterday which said that the car is designed and built around Verstappens aggressive driving style, which is why Albon struggles with it. Albon was a highly rated young driver until he was put in that car.
Perez in a car built to suit Verstappen might start to lose his reputation. Time may tell.
I also wonder if Verstappen might have some input into who is in the other car ? Number 1 drivers often do.
As I mentioned before, Bottas can be a great driver - sometimes, when he is in the mood or whatever. Much of the time though, he is a tad mediocre. He isnt consistently fast enough, and doesnt seem able to drive around problems when they happen.
When the pain and frustration settles down, Russell will surely realise that he raised his profile enormously today.
Unless Bottas has a hell of a season next year, I would imagine Russell will have his drive in 2022.
I think other teams have missed a trick this year by not signing him up instead of LeClerc, Sainz or even the returning Alonso, who I cant see recapturing his past glory days.
