Very sorry to read this, but now is the time to improve your cooking skills,  we're  all guilty of taking our other halves for granted sometimes, wishing her a speedy recovery, I hate paying to park anywhere & hospitals come top of the list.

I get what your saying, but she loves cooking so, being a lazy sod i left her to it. 
When she had the kids, two were home births, those were the days, i did the cooking as bed rest was the order of the day. I'm talking of over 55 years ago now. Now they're back on the coal round a few hours of dropping 'em. 
Anyway, the freezer is stacked so it would be rude not to use it. she can fill it up again when she gets out if she wants, or not if she can't be arsed.

I cancelled the direct debit for VED on the Boxster, as I no longer own it.
Had a look at my online banking this morning and sure enough, the DD has been paid / taken from my account.
No doubt there will be hours of my life wasted trying to get it back.
Already tried dealing with CARA - the Natwest onlne AI " helper". Beyond fickin useless, and I told it so. 
Yes I know it wont understand that, but it made me feel slightly better at the time.

Colchester council has cancelled recycling bin collections today because its too hot for the binmen to work !!
Words (almost) faile me.
I worked in a foundry for nine years. The binmen should give that a try in the middle of summer.
I also worked in a prestressed concrete flooring factory for several years. Shovelling concrete on pricework, while the stressing wirse were electrically heated to cure  the concrete quickly.
The first time in my life I reached 12 stone was when I finished with that job in 2008 when I was nearly 50. 
Im now a 14 stone fat bastid. 
Send a few of the poor little dears there for a week or two.
What do these people think happens in the parts of the world where 30 degree temps are the norm for much of the year ?

I spent nine years working in a foundry, having to wear the required PPE. that went with the job.
We never closed in the hot weather.
Later, I spent seven years making pre stressed concrete floors.
Shoveling concrete on price work, and the stressing wires were heated to cure the concrete faster. Wearing overalls and a much hated plastic hard hat.
On early shift in the summer we started at 5am instead of 6am to try and get the worst done before it got too hot.
I left that job when I was 48 and not long after tipped the scales at 12 stone for the first time in my life. 
Im now a fat bastid at 14 stone. 

The poor little dears should try some of that for a while. They dont even carry the bins anymore like they  used to. They just wheel them to the truck.

I remember bin men carrying the bins out on their shoulders .... they had a big leather pad they put the bin on 
SWMBO used to work in waste management. The binners were a bolshy lot!

The total morons that have vandalised our local cemetery, we went there this morning to wifeys parents grave to place some flowers and tidy around it, luckily it had not been targeted but the senseless vandalism surrounding it was dreadful flower holders strewn around &  flowers destroyed ,even ornaments on children's graves smashed to pieces what on earth goes in the brains of those responsible? I truly would love to catch them and deal with them.

All this fuss about a few warm days, it really is getting ridiculous health warnings , keeping hydrated, surely most of us on here have been around long enough to cope with it , one or two of us may have even ventured abroad for some extra sunshine....😂
