First vehicle I drove was a 3 tonne army truck, crash box, Bedford I think.
First car I owned was a 1958 Ford Popular E93A (Sit up & beg) - 1172cc side valve, 3 speed box.  Eventually "souped up" & rallied!!!!  LMB suspension, 15" Zodiac rims.  Reg Nş 578 PMH.

F reg 1968 Mini 850 , red with white roof.  Engine was knackered , the most I ever got out of it was 60 mph , I'm sure it should have been a bit faster than that?

Vauxhall Nova   - ooooh the shame  :-[

But it was in terrific condition, tiny miles on the clock (till I got it), and I never changed anything about it.  Even the radio remained factory original.  Tidy little motor that was.

This was my first car - a Standard 8

Actually, my Dad bought it in the vain hope of teaching my Mum to drive.  She never got the hang of it, but my brother and I learned to drive it round the field out the back of the pub.  At some stage it was replaced by this one - an Austin A35

I had my first driving lessons in one of these - Austin A40 - seen that one before, haven't we?

Later lessons were on this - very different - the magnificent Austin 1100

And the first car I actually bought and owned for myself was a Ford Popular 100E

Morris Marina 1.3 Super (MDU861P). I don't know what was super about it. I fitted dirty great Wolfrace Alloys to it, the drag was & fuel consumption was shocking.
Certainly not super after i'd finished with it, demolished a stone wall & hit a ruddy great tree. Mr plod took one look at the car & said i shouldn't be here let alone walking around without a mark on me. There's still bits of my car at the crash scene & that's 25 years later  :y

Bloody hell!  I must be losing it.

All that stuff about the cars I learned on a few posts back must be wrong.

I definitely took my first driving lessons when we lived in Central London, so I couldn't have learned on the old bangers in the field behind the pub, because my parents moved to the pub in the country after I went off to university.  And I definitely had more driving lessons while I was there.

Maybe I was trying to show my brother how to drive.

This is worrying  :( :( :(
