Good grief !!!  I've had to skip through most of this thread as it descended into utter twaddle.

Most of us have used the odd * to make a swear word more "acceptable".  An example would be my post heading "Scummy little Sh*t's" ('cos basically that's what they are !) earlier this evening. We all know (or should know) what is and isn't "acceptable"

As for the statement along the lines of "we hear it all around us",  at the end of the day the use of bad language in public is an arrestable offence that carries an £80 fine.

Prolific use of bad language is a sure sign of a distinct lack of vocabulary.

ohh er missus .. you can't say that ... apparently ..  Read above .. post #211

But I'm glad at least one person agrees with me :)

Ah b*ll*x to 'em !! (Doh...oops !! :o)

The odd profanity here & there is a part of everyday life & can be expressive if used in the right context so in no way detaches from the command of the english language, yes i hold a grade a old fashioned o level so am more than capable of saving a few quid in the swear box Entwood.
Should i blaspheme it's because i choose to not that i'm devoid of an alternative so take your head out of your arse. ::)

My understanding is that people swear because they lack the vocabulary to express their views/opinions  properly. :question

In talking to people i find this acceptable,as the there is a requirement to respond quickly, but online where people have to take the time to type out replies or have the luxury of taking time to phrase their replies, i have less tolerance.

Yes, there are times when it is tolerated, as it makes a point succinctly, but where will it end ?

do we end up communicating in smiley faces and LOL's ?

It constantly surprises (disappoints?) me that this is the ONLY forum of the 16 that I frequent where Admins dont discipline known trouble makers or rule breakers......

Its all warnings.......

If there is never examples shown of the ulitmate deterrent (bans) then there will ALWAYS be people deliberately breaking rules or antagonising other members to try and get their backs up.......

I can think of a few names straight away who this would apply to......!!!

Come on Admins, start to take control a bit...........???
