I have a jack, but its one of the small ones. Not a decent 'man' one like Mark has  ;D

One needs a jack that matches ones body profile....hence yours is the correct one for you.... ;D

Is there anything that anyone needs me to bring?

Same goes for me. I haven't got cam locking kits and the like but I've got most general purpose tools and I'll try and bring a selection of bits and pieces. I guess even if we're short of locking kits, if we've got a good supply of sockets, torque wrenches, etc the more cars we can prep. for the belt change in parallel.

Downside to this is that we could end up trying to sort out a great big pile of tools at the end of the day if we're not careful! One toolkit working on one car at a time might be a good rule!

Kevin

I have the same selection of tools and agree about one tookit per car.  I will bring what I have, including my jack.  This is old and bashed and has seen lots of action.  It needs replacing really - so no laughing at it!!!

I can bring a couple of torque wrenches. I've got a 1/2" and a 3/8".

I've also got a trolley jack. It's heavy, not pretty, it's cheap but it just about does the job (what was that about body profile?).

I'll also collect up as many Torx sockets, etc. as I can.

PMSL - you owe me a new keyboard now - just sprayed coffe all over it

For me, I don't think they make a jack with the right 'profile' ::)

Just phoned Vx & they have the gaskets but no O rings or sealant, they say they'll have them by Fri, cutting it a bit fine but, hey that's Vx!
Make sure they gave you all the gaskets, they swore they gave me the full set but it was only one side.
Cheers, I'll make sure I ask.
Just remembered there is another dealer nearby & they have everything so I'll pick them up on my way home.
Don't ask, that was my mistake!  Take them out of the bags and check yourself.
OK, silly question but what exactly am I looking for?
4 big gaskets.  Basically, check you have 4 'half moon' bits in there (1 half moon per gasket).  Also need 16 small o rings for cam cover bolts...

OK I have the gaskets & O rings  :y
The guy seemed to know what he was doing, I gave him the part no's & he asked what car & engine & then if I was doing both sides, I said yes & off he went & came back with two gasket packs & 16 O rings.

Double check you have got 4 gaskets - I seem to recall they are sold individually, and 4 required, though an EPC error implies only 2 required...
