Another job under the belt, changed the brake fluid & bled the brakes.

(It was a bit difficult trying to keep my foot on the brake pedal, whilst reaching under the car to tighten the bleed nipple, but using a telescopic flexible shaft ring spanner, just managed it).

Sounds like you need a broom stick to push the brake pedal while you're round the back. Works on a Westfield, anyway. :y

There'll be nothing to do at Newent at this rate.

How do you find it going from a 2.2 144bhp Omega to a 179bhp one after having a 2.2 for a long period?
I had a 2.2 CDX manual for 15 months or so, bought it with 28k, and it was very nice. I always thought it was adequate in the power department, nothing amazing but good enough. I found the extra 35bhp and 2 cylninders of the 2.6 made such a big difference. I now have a 2003 2.6 Elite manual, and find it much better to drive. It requires less effort, even when just potting about on country lanes - there's no real need to change down a gear as it has enough power.

Hopefully, when all the problems with it are sorted this weekend at Newent, I will say it is a far superior car, but, at the moment, can't say I've noticed a lot of difference.

I'm sweating on a water pump arriving today, can you still change the cam belt on a 2.6 without changing the water pump?

I have a spare V6 water pump (non-gen from AutoVaux, IIRC) if you're stuck. Might even find somewhere to pack it...
