I would really enjoy that and would willingly donate £10 for the privilege of a few strikes with the weapon of my choice, it would be a really good meeting for us I should think, and pretty unique😂😂 oh hang on £5 I meant🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I've been to similar car meets in the past  :) spanner meets ,strip (the car) and smash up what's left
OK £20 and that's my final offer

£25  :-\

The Hot Hatch Kill was a regular feature of the Hot Rod Nationals: 3 teams were presented with a car, and had to get it under a low pole using nothing more than hand tools. The cars were supposedly stopped from running, and the 'work' was helped along with copious amounts of alcohol, swearing and jeering from the crowds.

What was left of the cars were always driven to the party in the evening :y

As a club, we went to a show at a local school, where a bloke with a beach buggy challenged us to a tug-o-war. We dragged it backwards across the field with the wheels spinning to loud tutting from the flat cap brigade.

At another show at Detling, we wanted to leave because we were all going to dinner. Apparently, it wasn't fair to the paying customers for the show cars to leave early, even though we had paid to enter too. Two rows of cars doing burnouts in front of the gate soon changed their minds. It wasn't unusual for us to visit more than one small show on a Sunday.

The old girl went for an MOT today and it looks like the news is not good.  :( Garage rung me late this afternoon and tin worm has taken over! I have not been to see the rot yet but have been seriously thinking about what to do about it!  I was going to sell/get rid of this year, but medical issues caught up with me late last year. I need a car to go to Raigmore hospital Inverness on a regular basis. The quandry is, do I get some welding done and keep her going? I am of an age that driving will get more difficult but need the old grl. I cannot be arsed looking for another car at this stage in my life. I do know a welder that does that sort of thing, so I might go down that road first to see what he says. What do you fellow OOF'ers think?  :-\ :-\

Update to the welding saga and even worse news.
The old girl has had it. The welder said that it would be uneconomical to fix it.
So looking for another car that is a bit higher as my Rheumatoid Arthritis is not going away.
I don't know what I am going to do with it. I would rather see that spares are used from it rather than crushing.  :'( :'(
Keep you posted.  :y

Fitted new Bilstein B4's all round today , well over the last three days ...... ::) finding it more difficult to work on cars now and usually end up aching all over after a stint so only do a couple of hours at a time .
Anyway , all went well except found one bottom ball joint boot is split . Looked at replacing the boot alone but it seems they are only sold in packs of twenty over here  >:( so I'll just power file out the rivets and replace it complete .

(Monday) Replaced droplinks on the project car, only done 25K but one failed due to boot failure. Other side was fine but as you've already taken it off to check you may as well replace it!

They're pretty much a service item, and for what they cost, 25k is a reasonable innings :y

Genuine GM ones don't last with lowered stiffened suspension i've found (managed to get through those in 8K on another car) but the Meyle HD ones are excellent and lasted over 100K on the daily. I think this one only failed because the boot became detached (it didn't split) which is probably my fault as I fitted them!

2x Meyle HD droplinks £28.28 Free delivery - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203307254086?epid=248685335&hash=item2f560e8146:g:AwkAAOSw03xhpqoy

The gearbox on the V70 has started slipping and when checked, the ATF fluid was as low as a low tide at a full moon party!  :-[  ::)

Bought some ATF, topped it up and although the gear changes are better it still slips a bit from standing.  :-\  I'll check the levels again tomorrow, but if it's something more serious it'll be going on ebay spares or repair....  :(

Meanwhile the local garage fitted new front shocks and springs on the Mondeo and although my wallet is somewhat lighter, the handling is vastly improved!  :y
